Why can't I stop thinking about B-wings.

By Withaaron, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Ok, I'm in a love/hate relationship. I know them really well and have a list that I've been doing pretty well with (4th in 20, 3rd in 10 at two tourneys). I'm headed to my first regional and I want to do well. Here is my problem: with the current meta, I feel like my list isn't competitive but I have no clue. Do I ditch my list(s) and do something more "competitive" or do I take a chance on "outdated" meta. List(s)

(2) Blue Squadron Pilots + Advanced Sensors

(2) Gold Squadron Pilots + TLT's

2nd list

(3) Blue Squadron Pilot + Advanced Sensor + Engine Upgrade + Proton Torpedoes.

I imagine your first list would do pretty well, sufficiently beefy and firepower to back it up. B-wings don't appear much anymore (thankfully) but they are still scary enough. You've obviously done well with them and if you like your list then I'd say to bring it.

If this persists for more than four hours, contact a doctor.

You could also try the classic but scary 4 B + 1 Z list.

My personal favourite is 3 b-wings & an ace.

and out of the aces my favourite would be Jake farrel.

It seems to allow for a lot of tactical flexibility having a really nice flanker to go with your main jousting force.

I like your first list, and have thought about running it myself.

Along with BBBBZ, you can also now try:

2x Rookie Pilot (X-Wing, 21)

+ R5 Astromech (1)

+ Integrated Astromech (0)

2x Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

Bandit Squadron Pilot (12)

Replacing two B's with X's gives you roughly the same durability (with Integrated Astromech) but now you have two faster ships instead of four that are good in close.

B's are great. Just a fun ship to fly.

I like Farlander the best. Give him PTL, engine and sensors. Makes him a pretty good arc dodger for lower PS pilots.

I have been flying this lately.

2x Blue Pilots: Sensors

2x Blue Novice: R2-Astromechs, Integrated

Pretty fun mini rebel swarm.

I'm with you on this. Even with the current meta, the B-wing is still my favorite ship to fly and I run several variants with it.

Lately I've been taking the old Bloody Daggers squad and tweaking it. Though I do love AS on my b's, they are much better stock than the reds. With that in mind I have dropped the AS from the Daggers and added astromechs and IA to the reds.

I mainly play Rebs and it's hard for me not to use a B-wing if not multiples as I feel it's still one of the best stock ships in the game

My younger brother has flown this list for years.

2x Blue Sq Pilot

Adv Sensors

Biggs

R4-D6

IA (new edition to his list)

2x Bandit Sq Pilots

I tell you it can be a huge pain to beat.

One of my fav's is

Biggs

3 x Blue Squad all with FCS. One with Jan Ors to give Biggs an evade.

Could probably sacrifice the FCS to give Biggs some more protection.

Last tournament I learned my lesson: With the current Meta you need PS4, so Dagger-B-Wings.

3x Dagger with FCS, Plasma, Guidance and a blocking Z-95.

Why do so many people prefer Advanced Sensors over FCS on B-Wings?

I found that x/d's with tractor beams are my B's for lunch.

I have been using this for a while, with some success.

Nera w/ VI, FCS, Proton torps, extra munitions, guidance chip.

Dagger x2 w/ FCS, Proton torps, extra munitions, guidance chip.

I agree with Nera getting Deadeye over VI. So much more useful.
