If the fore section of the ship is crippled, do the faceup crit damage cards still apply? Thanks

The huge ship rules only state a crippled section cannot be targetted nor receive damage cards. Considering you can still use the repair droids to flip/remove the damage cards from a crippled section, I would say it is logical that a crippled section's face-up cards still apply their effects.

Somewhere in the rules it states that once a section becomes crippled it remains crippled. While flipping damage cards face down may help you cannot repair a crippled section and bring it back on line.
