You can give yourself (or any one player a boost) for 2 adv as a 1 time selection. You can give the "next" player to act a boost as well for 1. Or you can recover upto 6 strain. Other then that it is your proposal vs GM approval to say find the exact tool that you need to negate 1 setback for all future attempts or something else.
Sarone's Star Wars: Hutts Space Chronicles (Season 1) OOC
Well. Suffice it to say that just like CC I am rather peeved at the online dice roller...
Note to the GM: I flipped a Destiny Point for my Mechanics roll. Not that it did me any good...
Funny, I never said there was a planet nearby...

Cool.
I've posted a rambling plea for more help in engineering, broadcast throughout the ship. Anyone not busy can now have all the excuses they need to get busy!
It's cool.
Klyp is going to give VERY unskilled assistance to Massan.
Still better than nothing.
Tion's on his way too. I'll post IC in about an hour or so.
Also better than nothing.
- In addition, the klaxons are loud and bright. Despite this, it will take an action from either the sensor operator's station, the pilot/copilot stations, or engineering to shut it down. This will be the player/character's action. (+1 Setback Die to all characters, DDBB (Computers) to shut down and counts as the action)
@TheErthafein: Edad needs to restart the computer system and get it setup. That will be a Hard Computers Check with environmental and stress setback die (DDDSSS)
I have a couple questions regard the above from your post. Does the line specifically to me included the 2 setback from the failed resilience check? Also, I'm going to need to restart the computer system before the alarms can attempt to be shut down, correct?
The warning system is separate from the sensor's, even though it still overloaded the sensors. As to the check, I am using one of the two Setback die. The other will be used at a later check.
I guess Sting could go help with the piloting roll, his other options are to go "lean on the captain" to coerce him to getting the droid out (with his talent it would downgrade the roll to DDDSS vs PAB, or to go "fix" the issue in engineering by banging on something with his gaffi stick. Which would you guys prefer?
I'll leave it up to you. That being said, threatening the Captain might not be a good idea. I mean, it's not like there isn't a Socialite in the party, right?
System Recalibration: 1eP+3eA+1eD+3eS 1 failure, 6 advantage
So this went badly. Not really badly, but pretty badly.
You can retry the roll. However, I will want to have everyone else post there actions, rolls, and reactions first before you retry it.
Yeah not sure how to spend it - can I buy a re-roll?
You can retry after everyone has posted. That being said, I am spending two of the advantages here to let you be able to route those extra boost die to other stations and systems.
Well. Suffice it to say that just like CC I am rather peeved at the online dice roller...
Note to the GM: I flipped a Destiny Point for my Mechanics roll. Not that it did me any good...
Noted. Please post your roll in the OOC, please.
That being said, ****. You can retry the roll.
Also, because of everyone's "descriptive behavior", one more Setback die to the Engineering section.

Start Destiny Pool: 7 Light Side/4 Dark Side
Actions:
- ColonelCommissar
- Kymrel
- Tear44 (assisting Kymrel)
- sonovabith (assisting Kymrel)
Kymrel has used a Destiny point for his Mechanics check (Destiny Pool: 6 Light Side/5 Dark Side)
ColonelCommissar and Kymrel have failed their checks; both checks can be retry once everyone has posted their actions and the next round of actions are up.
Sorry, forgot to post the roll here as well.Mechanics to fix the port engine: 2eA+2eP+5eB+3eD+1eC+2eS 1 failure, 2 advantageI assume the same goes for the re-roll as the one CC has to do, that the rest should post before I roll again? With an extra setback and 2 less boost (unless the 2 advantages I rolled give me a boost?)....
Hmm, can you give me a break down of what boosts you have used as well as the pool break down, please?
But for now, the two advantages will give you an extra Boost to your next roll.
Sure. The pool is normally AAAP. With the destiny flip it becomes AAPP.
Boost dice: 1 from Resilience success. 1 from you (ooc post #91), 1 from each of the three assistants (Daal, already in engineering, Tion and Klyp), 5 total.
With the re-roll the pool will be AAAPBBBBDDDCSSS, assuming 3 helpers and the boost from the failed roll. If I flip another Destiny Point (and seeing those odds, I likely will...) it will be AAPPBBBBDDDCSSS
Regarding the fact that you never said we were near a planet, that is very true. I'll assume that Massan, constantly on edge and fearful, simply assumed the worst, that we are now careering towards a planet without the engine power to slow us down... Unless you prefer an edit?
We are putting the 'frak' in 'Absolutely frakked'!
Nah, you supplied the 'frak'. I supplied the 'absolutely'...
Jeez!
Idk how I missed all this activity today!
I'll get a post up sometime this evening.
I'm guessing Sheed's unskilled help might be best directed at this point by helping out Lynna?
She can work on calming down the captain, but that will be easier once his ship is no longer wailing and falling apart...and is merely stinky and in disrepair.
You are assuming we don't just blow up in a sad, tiny, insignificant fireball due to engine failure? Or that the pirates now hurtling towards us at breakneck speed won't turn us into molten slag? How very optimistic!
Say what now about pirates?
Are our sensors online? Don't think they are...
I call them Schrodinger's Pirates. They are either out there or they aren't. Sort of like certain Imperials from another game, far, far away...

Lets wait to make sure who is willing to help and who is not.
As for the planet and edit, I'll just leave it as is. Especially since Massan doesn't know.

Well, you can also thank your fellow players for help in that regard.

I figured a social encounter would be helpful. Especially as calm heads and easy personalities will help make the trip easier.

Dun-dun, dun-dun.
Trying to do a piloting roll to do piloty stuff
And I continue the string of failures....I use 2 adv to pass a boost to Lynna due to my help

Um, say what?
You had listed a piloting check as something that could be done. Sorry if I had misunderstood. I can go back and edit....I am not much use otherwise

While it is a possible action, the dice pool was tailored towards ColonelCommissar's character, not in general. Hence my bewilderment.
If there is an action that is listed for a specific character that you like to use, then it would be best to ask. That way everyone would be on the same page and not getting confused.
Re-Roll per Sarone
Sting Wango Hutt Space Chronicles Piolting Roll 3eA+2eB+1eD+2eS 0 successes, 1 advantage
Edited by JalekZemI'd like a Perception check in the cockpit, to notice something...anything...that might help the situation.
Let me know a difficulty (with +1 setback die for failing the resilience check), and I'll do the thing.
Right now there isn't much that can be done on the bridge or in engineering. That being said, Sheed does notice the Captain is a bit stressed and could be talked to, maybe help him think.

At the difficulty listed, the only thing Sheed stands to gain there is to make things worse.
So I guess she will just hang tight for now.
This is turning out to be quite the epic ***********... Can we request a new dice roller? ![]()
This is probably a stretch, but considering how things are going I figure it can't hurt to ask. Could Tion potentially use skullduggery to at least shut down some of the Klaxons? The justification is klaxons are basically alarms and given his background he'd have some experience with shutting down alarm systems. He might be able to puzzle it out. If not, totally fine, I'm just trying to think outside the box.

I thought along the same lines myself, but figured a perception roll would help determine a course of action.
