My regional is next weekend, and I'd like some opinions on what I'm looking at taking

By Audio Weasel, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I flew a version of this yesterday, and I did pretty well with it, I just need to get the hang of the neb:

between yesterday, and this version, I swapped out Dash for a 4th generic 2400, so that I could add the CR90 title and Intel Officer, and I swapped out the XX-9s on the neb for the XI7s

Slaved Turrets on the Neb! With Salvation it works a treat. Alternatively TRC's if you dont value the evade defencively.

Intel Officer is one of those things where it makes sense to have lots of them in the fleet or none of them really. So I would drop that. Salvation is a ship that is quite happy being run with minimal upgrades.

And as MC30's do like first player, a reasonable bid wouldnt go amiss.

So perhaps something more like this:

I've tried Salvation with slaved turrets, and kept wanting to use squadron fire afterward, and having problems punching through due to redirects, so I think XI7's might work better for me. I'll have a chance to run this on thursday, for final practice before the regional.

As an Imperial player this list would give me a headache. You have the things I don't want to see: YT2400s in numbers, decked out MC30s, TRC, and a simple Salvation. If you had a bid as well it would be a true migraine. Maybe drop the nice and cute upgrades to gain a decent bid (eg Lando, Leia, Jaina's Light)?

I'd rather not drop Lando (i.e. keep ship alive once card) but I could see myself dropping Jaina's and Leia. This does bring up a good question though (i'm still fairly new). What is considered a decent initiative bid in Armada? I've been building to 400 and planning on going second.

Its on its head, AND its very meta Dependent...

If you want 2nd Player, then keep it at 400.

If you want 1st player, realise you'll be fighting against Demolisher lists who will have anywhere from a 13 to a 20 pt bid...

Used to be where I found I almost always had Initiative with a mere 5 points bid...

But it is very much on your meta there.

Raymus on the Nebulon is far better than Intel Officer. Gain an extra die AND rerolls to ensure you hit at full power. Mix it up with Slaved Turrets and you can average 6+ damage per attack.

I've flown a few version of this:

(2 MC30T, Salvation, Yavaris+squadrons)

(2 MC30T, Salvation, 2 TRC90's + Intel officers)

I'd suggest downgrading the MC30 scout frigates to torpedo frigates. The reasoning is that the blue dice will get you the accuracies you need to push through your black damage. The red dice won't. You will give up a round (possibly two) of minor shooting at red range but punch harder. The only time I'd probably consider scout MC30's is with Ackbar. You should then add the Admonition title. It might seem weaker than Foresight but it works where it matters most - Close range. Mon Mothma is the only circumstance where I'd maybe agree Foresight was stronger. Effect = -4 points

Switch the XI7's to TRC's (just more reliable than Slaved turrets) and remove Intel officer. Effect = -6 points

Probably also put Lando on Foresight to help it survive the attack run at close range.

This will give you a 10 point bid for hopefully first player.

My experience suggests that Salvation is going to die but it will absorb peoples attention as the immediate threat while your MC30T's swing into position for their runs. Nav commands on the MC30's probably every turn except the first (generally I take a repair token so I can move 2 shields or regen one when needed) as positioning is so important for them.
