Strike Cruiser Hull for RT or BC

By Cinix, in Rogue Trader House Rules

I didn't really like the way the Strike Cruiser felt in other write ups so I decided to write my own. Feel free to use or ignore as you desire.

-Light Cruiser -

Astartes Strike Cruiser
Speed: 6 Maneuverability: +12
Detection: +15 Hull Integrity: 65
Armour: 20 Turret Rating: 2
Space: 50 SP: 66
Weapon Capacity: 1 dorsal, 1 prow, 1 port, 1 starboard, (of these slots one prow slot is pre-equipped with a component)

Outfitted for War: The strike cruiser is designed solely for combat and in anticipation of this, her masters have outfitted her with the heavy power couplings and projection arrays required to maintain multiple void shields. The strike cruiser can use cruiser only void shield components.

Carrier: The Strike cruiser comes pre-equipped with one jovian class escort launch bay component in a prow slot, which may not be removed. The hull's space has already been reduced to account for this, however when the ship is constructed it must be able to provide one power to the launch bay.

Astartes Assault Vessel: The strike cruiser comes pre-equipped with two Drop Pod Launch Bays which may not be removed. The hull's space has already been reduced to account for this, however when the ship is constructed it must be able to provide one power to each drop pod bay (2 Power Total).

Non-Standard Prow: While supporting more room for components the prow of the Strike cruiser can not fit upgrades or components that rely on the standard prow such as variable figure head, power ram and reinforced prow.

I literally derived apples to apples calculations between the two systems, and calculated that a strike cruiser should have based on equivalencies between existing examples:

Speed: 7

Hull: 60

Maneuverability: 12-15

Shields 1 - 2

Turrets: 2

Armor: 24

'Love' how people ignore the very first line of text in the post. :P

Like I said I didn't really like the other write ups or versions so I wrote up one for my own games and am just sharing it.

I looked over what you made up and concluded that it doesn't fit so I posted my own work.

Just compare what you created to other vessels and then compare to BFG.

Your strike Cruiser is too slow while also being less armoured than the original stats.

In addition you have a dorsal mount which strike cruisers just don't wave (they have 2 prow mounts according to BFG!) and you preoccupied one mount with a launch bay.

This takes away the possibility to outfit a strike cruiser with both Torpedo Tubes (needed for carrying out Exterminatus) and the obligatory Bombardment Cannon.
