I am very happy about that wave. Even more so because they found a way to make the Interdictor have good effects despite now hyperjumps are played out in the game.
However I am a bit unhappy with hull 9 on the Interdictor. I would have liked to see him as tough support vessel not a supporting combat vessel. The Victory Destroyer is push back into a corner even more.
The Interdictor is not designated as "Immobilizer 418 class" (which was always a silly name) but it looks like one. I am fine that they didnt use the "Interdictor class" from EU making them converted ISDs.
However if we take the old canon the measeurement were:
Immobilizer Length: 600m, Width 300m, Height 100m, while the VSD was 900m long.
Here is a modell comparsion:

Looks like the Interdictor will be slightly larger than the Victory by volume. That's fine, personally. It has more hull and the volume is being used for specialized equipment, it probably should look a little bulkier in some ways.
**** but it's going to look nice on a table. Liberty too. They've really nailed the look of the films on the table now at least, I'll give them that. I'd be extremely happy to throw a thousand points each on the table for a weekend and take photos for sure.

Immobilizer 418s still exist in the newcanon - they appear in the Tarkin novel and in Heir to the Jedi.

The Rebels ship, however, is larger than the Immobilizer was - and going by Sabine's description in the episode, it's a new, experimental model:

The Interdictor design in this episode is much larger than what was originally posited in the Legends description of this vehicle, suggesting this is a more powerful model than previous depictions.
And the concept art gallery shows a noticeably different underside - with a hangar bay easily big enough to fit a corvette:

Re: Max speed
All the preview pictures have the speed dials maxed out (Nebulon-B, VSD, Gladiator, Assault Frigate, MC80, Gozantis, Rebel transports) or one speed point below their maximum (Raider, CR90, ISD, MC30). Therefore I think it's safe to assume the Interdictor and Liberty (speed dial at 2) are either speed 2 or 3. More likely 2, but 3 is possible. Remember that both can take Engine Techs.
Re: the Interdictor Support Refit
Something I noted in the Interdictor-specific thread is that the Support Refit may have room for TWO Experimental Retrofits due to some sneaky wording...
After all, the Interdictor Suppression Refit costs you five fleet points more than the most expensive basic Victory -class Star Destroyer, the Victory II . Still, for those five extra fleet points, you lose two dice from your forward battery armament, as well as one point of shields each from both your left and right hull zones. What you get in return, though, is an unprecedented ability to impact the battlefield and the game through the use of Experimental Retrofits like the G-8 Experimental Projector and G7-X Grav Well Projector .
(bolded emphasis mine)
Please note that they could have written "through the use of an Experimental Retrofit like the G-8 or the G7-X" but instead they wrote "Experimental Retrofit s " (plural) and "G-8 and G7-X" (both).
It's definitely possible that it's just casual writing, but FFG does like to leave little hints, so I'm curious as to if the Support Refit has two Experimental Retrofit upgrade slots. The writing certainly gives enough room to ponder, anyways...
I keep seeing people say the liberty can take engine techs and has a support team slot, but I must have misse something in the article that makes that assertion more than conjecture. I caught the engineering teams in the back row of the Interdictor, so that one follows. But I'm clearly missing something on the Liberty, so could someone please point out whatever that is please. Its driving me nuts.

Its only because its an MC80, and the MC80 we already has, has them...

Liberty has the weapons team slot so it might not have the support team. Still spinal turbolasers + gunnery team + leading shots will make it a really powerfull front arc ship.

Clontroper5 is correct. The secret face-down crew card on the MC80 is a Support Team upgrade card. Therefore Liberty MC80s can take Support Team upgrades. Therefore they can take Engine Techs.
Or, at least one of the two variants can.

This was my guess as well. I think the Suppression Refit will have two Experimental Retrofits, slightly different dice out of the different arcs and two blue anti-squadron. Which suggests that the Combat Refit we can see will be reather expensive. Worth it? I think so.

Ah there it is. Thanks clon. I knew it was gonna be one of those things where after I knew what it was I would wind up wondering how I missed it.
Having given it some more thought, it seems sensible to assume that the Combat Interdictor would come with an Offensive and Experimental Retrofit slot and the Support Interdictor would come with two Experimental Retrofits.
This allows a Combat Interdictor to perform two solid roles:
1) Speed debuffer. Combining a G-8 and a Tractor Beam, you can pull off some serious hijinks .
2) Fleet support. We don't know what the remaining two Experimental Retrofits do, but the teaser seems to indicate some kind of support abilities for the rest of the fleet. You can combine a squadron buffer like Boosted Comms or Expanded Hangar Bay with a more friendly Experimental Retrofit for a helper Interdictor that buffs other ships/debuffs enemy ships and pushes squadrons around too.
Support Interdictor would depend strongly on what the other two Experimental Retrofits do.
Interdictor title itself would work fine in either case. With two exhaustable responsive Experimental Retrofits on a Support Interdictor, you'd get options for which gets used twice in any given turn.
Suffice it to say my curiosity about these upcoming releases is growing. Unfortunately, I suspect we'll be waiting for a few weeks before any other morsels come our way...
Unfortunately I've gotta run off so I can't do an overlay to verify, but it looks to me like the Interdictor is zoomed in further than the VSD (all of the pieces are slightly bigger). So it is really bigger than the VSD here, or is the size disparity just a function of being zoomed in closer?
The Int was indeed zoomed in a little further than the VSD. Still, it's notably longer but looks about the same breadth in profile (it's shunted a bit. I did my best to replicate the new perspective but it seems FFG changed the angle a touch in addition to adding a shadow around the newer picture bases). Anyway, sorry for the ick photo, still toying with GIMP while I'm reinstalling photoshop.
Nevertheless, the Interdictor is a fairly sizable cruiser.

So a 600 meter Interdictor is longer than a 900 meter Victory... hmmm...
So a 600 meter Interdictor is longer than a 900 meter Victory... hmmm...
Its not a 600m Interdictor.
Its based on the Rebels Interdictor.
Which is Larger.
As has been stated.
That is why it does not look more like the old Immobilizer version.
Edited by DrasnightaAye, aren't they calling this one "The Imperial Interdictor" just like the Arquitens is now called the "Imperial Light Cruiser. and the Gozanti is the "Imperial Assault Carrier." So it's very different from the Immobilizer-418 look for better or for worse. Either way, we've got a very big cruiser.

3x questions
1) When will the Imps get their second large base ship? (Tector SD?)
2) When will the Imps get their missing small base ship? (??????)
3) And when will the Rebs get their second medium base ship? (AF1 or MC40?)

I'm not sure anybody really knows the answers to those questions (other than FFG). If wave 4 is communicating anything to us I take it to be "we're not married to the idea of comparable ship releases for each side." Rebs will have two large ships and Imperials will have a ship that boasts an upgrade type Rebels cannot use whatsoever. Whether and when they "rectify" that is a difficult guess.
Edited by SnipafistOh man, I remember someone being worried they wouldn't bring out the MC80, and I just new it would be out. Yeah, and they did it right too. Everyone knows you don't fly in front of one of those things. Daaaaayuuuuh. Well, guess my Imperial Friends won't want to play with me anymore.
