Tournament Ruling - Simultaneous death

By Lancezh, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

I'm reading conflicted info about this in different places how do you judge this ?

Riekaan vs. Motti, both players kill each other at the same time. Motti "killed" the last ship with initiative first, then thanks to riekaan the zombie ship killed motti's last capital ship. Do you keep playing until the end of the round or is the game over once motti leaves the board (as all capitals are gone from the imperials) ? How is it scored int hat case ?

Also if someone has 380 points and he gets cleared from the board, does the winner receive 380 points or 400 ?

Second question is easy, you get 400 points for tabling the opponent plus any scenario extras for objectives like rear shots or contesting the outpost.

If you both wipe out each other either due to simultaneous ramming killing the last ship or shooting & having to run off the board or Rieekan doing his "I stab at thee" thing, then you would both get 400 points plus extras for objectives. If that leaves you both tied at say 400 then second player wins.

You play till the end of the round.

In practice if the objective has no method for squadrons to score objective points then there is little point carrying on. Think precision strike and superior positions against Rieekans ship.

If both players get tabled...the scoring is not what you think. It's 5-5 0 MoV.

(isn't that right Dras?)

And the win goes to the 2nd player, right ?

Yes.

Mutual Destruction: At the end of a game round, all of both players’ ships are destroyed. The player without initiative is the winner, but his or her Margin of Victory is 0.
Look Dras: I actually quoted!

Yes and yes.

Tournament Regulations pg 7 End of Round

Mutual Destruction: At the end of a game round, all of both

players’ ships are destroyed. The player without initiative is the

winner, but his or her Margin of Victory is 0.

That is Correct...

Under Tournament Rules, when one side has all of its ships die, they Lose at the end of the round . This allows their Squadrons to get one final kick in...

If that's not enough, then one side has been Destroyed, and they are Declared the Loser.... However . Objectives are still counted, and if their Points are still actually higher , then the Game will be scored with a 5-5, with 0 MOV

If that one final kick also Destroys the Enemy.... Then both Fleets are declared as Mutually Destroyed...

Second Player is declared the Winner, with a 5-5, with 0 MOV...

Objectives are not counted .

Not important. The important but is I actually referenced the rules. You're having a bad influence on me!

I'm Proud. :D

Soon I'll be able to Retire, and actually play a game without having to Judge every other game going on at a tournament at the same time...

... That's the Armada equivelant of drinking Margharitas on a Beach somewhere, to me....

If only any of us answering questions here lived anywhere near Hothgary to give you a break IRL. :) Though, I'm moving to Seattle next year, so not entirely outside the realm of possibility I suppose.

I count myself quite fortunate to have several others here in San Antonio who are actually interested in learning the rules of the game they're playing.

Thank you guys!!!
