While I'm accepting all of you fine folks' gratitude, let me also say that I am probably responsible for the Interdictor.

Since I thought it was unlikely that they were actually going to come out with one any time soon, I went and ordered one from an old game in order to make use of it in casual games. Because the universe cannot abide that such an investment of mine could bear fruit, I am certain that this directly caused FFG to make this new expansion happen.

I don't remember who or where, but I recall talking about how to make Grav Wells work in Armada...

Looks like breaking core mechanics is OK with them afterall!
