Austin TX Regional Championships - Dragon's Lair - 5/21/2016 - Livestreamed

By voidreturn, in X-Wing Organized Play

SATURDAY May 21st, 2016
START TIME: 12 PM (Pre-Registration is now full, we will be taking day-of waiting list signups)

Tournament Structure:
We will be following the standard FFG tournament structure. At 96 players, we will be following the Advanced Round Structure, which means we will have 6 rounds of Swiss and a top cut of 16 (4 rounds of elimination). We will have the standard 75 minute time limits per match.

We will be requiring squad lists and doing random checks on all game components to ensure a competitive play environment. Please bring all required materials (Standard Damage Deck, Asteroids, tokens/dice/templates, etc) and verify that they meet the standards set out in the X-Wing Tournament Rules. Failure to have the necessary components and/or if they have been tampered with prior to a match will result in potential Match Loss or Disqualification (based on the Marshal's discretion).

The most up to date FAQ and Tournament Rules will be used. Cryodex will be used instead of TOME (due to the problems it had last year).

Ship Legality:
All currently released ships and upgrades will be legal.

Prizes:
We will be awarding prizes from the FFG 2016 X-Wing Regional Championships Kit. Top 8 players will be awarded custom playmats. Players from San Antonio and Austin can continue the rivalry started during store championship season and sign up to compete for the ATX Shootout; top 4 players for each town will be awarded special templates (gold templates for the team with the highest total points). We will be giving out wave 8 maneuver reference cards to all competitors. We have a few other surprises for random drawings as well!

Livestream:

We will be livestreaming the event with commentary (that's right, not 1 but 2 commentators!). Livestream should be available at http://twitch.tv/512squadron(an update will be posted if that URL changes).

Food:

We will also be providing food for every competitor! Between rounds 3 and 4, we will take approximately a 30-45 minute break to chow down and relax a little.

Additional Notes:
Please bring an official mat if you have one. Otherwise, please only bring what you need to eliminate taking up space as 96 people will keep the store packed all day.

Hope to see everyone! Fly Casual!
