Haven't updated this in awhile, but seeing as I have FINALLY finished all the monsters from the base set, I figure its time.

Nicely done! The underside of the wings of the shadow dragon and the speckling detail of the meriod I particularly like. I'm sitting here painting those little witch doctors myself at the moment

Looks great, I like the elementals. Where did you get the skeleton? Also, what did you use to cover the models in a clear coat? Some kind of varnish?

Skeleton is from Reaper Miniatures, it comes in a 3 pack for 8 bucks I think.

The varnish is Testors Clear Coat or Testors Dull Coat. Usually I start it with the clear coat, let it dry, then if I want the model to be shiny I do another spray of the clear coat, otherwise I use the dull coat to get rid of the shine.

Trystaine. Special thanks to @Sorastro on this one. Tip from his recent Jain Fairwood guide to do a wash after priming really helped show the details and speed this up. Painted this one start to finish in about 3 hours.

I´m considering gifting my base Descent game to my nephew and buy a new one for myself. Does anyone know if the newest prints come with all erratas included? Are the hero models bigger, like the newest hereos and monster packs?

Thanks! To my knowledge, the newer print game comes with updated cards that include (most) errata, as well as replacing the Shadow Rune campaign with the Heirs of Blood campaign. However, I don't think they have replaced the molds for the original heroes, so no changes in scale or better sculpts. We will all probably have to wait for a 3rd edition for that.

Well its been awhile so I figures I should post and update. Still haven't finished the last 2 heroes from my base set, but definitely enjoying being distracted by models that actually hit the table 8}.

Ok, all credit for colouring on these goes to @Styfen who posted some absolutely amazing bane spiders that I simply HAD to copy. Seriously, you made me fall in love with this model.
