FFG has -never- put any exclusively Ruled card in its Seasonal tournament packs. Only Alternate Art. They have stated, right from the get-go, as part of their Organised Play Policy, that they wouldn't be providing anything that would set apart a tournament player versus a casual player in capability.

What strikes me as odd is the way she is posing and the expression on her face doesn't seem at all in keeping with the seriousness of the empire... she looks laid back and casual with a possible distaste for authority... looks more like a rebel... all the other empire pilot art have them in helmets or with serious expressions doing something useful to the empire with a sense of urgency... she looks like she's saying, "ya I'll go shoot down some xwings... when I get around to it"

It's true that maintaining law, order, and stable tranquility in the galaxy is serious business, but that doesn't mean that is Imperials don't know how to cut loose and have some fun. Thinking otherwise just means that you've been subjected to too much Rebel propaganda - nothing that we can't fix with just a little reeducation and/or purging.
Going on the photo alone kinda irks me. More **** fighters!?!

From the book she could easily be an elite fighter or an officer upgrade.
I enjoyed the book a lot. It did a great job showing how much worse the Empire was than simply being a necessarily harsh government maintaining order and stability. The creeping corruption over the course of the books and what it does to the characters really hits home.

Two observations:
The Empire than has a lot more female power on the frontline than the Rebels. Sexist scum 
Nobody has lamented yet that Ciena Ree could hurt traditional feelings that women should be foremost mothers.
I wonder what maternity leave is like in the empire....
