Looks like yesterdays leak was unauthorised an inaccurate

Representatives from Disney and Lucasfilm have contacted several websites asking them to take down the leak. According to the release:

Sites like Collider and Hitflix obliged and took down the content.

“The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story information is the product of an unauthorized leak and a lot of the information listed isn’t even correct.”

Looks like yesterdays leak was faked after all

Representatives from Disney and Lucasfilm have contacted several websites asking them to take down the leak. According to the release:

“The Rogue One: A Star Wars Story information is the product of an unauthorized leak and a lot of the information listed isn’t even correct.”

Sites like Collider and Hitflix obliged and took down the content. Thankfully, Stormtrooper Larry hasn’t received any such notice thanks to our cloaking device (or maybe because we’re just a small-time blog).

"Faked" is not an accurate summary of the linked article.

Yeah "Faked" is in fact a completely **** way to describe it.

I'd read that article as saying "almost entirely correct but some of the the details of characters/backgrounds/events may change"

Ok, not faked - tried to edit the title after I put it up but cant - but lots of copy/paste items and placeholders used and lots of inaccuracies

I actually really like the U-wing. The TIE... not so much.

I bet these pages are mock ups. Most of the text on the ship pages are nothing more than descriptions of other things. The new character descriptions are too vague.

The pics used could be concept art that will never be put into films.

The publishers need to have everything mocked up (not final) in advance. Later-probably when the movie is sent to theaters, the finalized pics and text is swapped out hours before the first printing.

My guess is we are getting a new rebel starfighters of some sort and a new TIE fighter.

The U wing has been identified as the rebel troop transport from one of the early trailers, so we can confirm that ones existance.

Also, the big red banner on some of them saying "Not Final" ;)

I kid, but the fact that these are concepts isn't news. I'd be surprised if the ship designs changed much though.

Don't believe anything until it's been officially denied.

Also, the image of the T-70s...

Also, the image of the T-70s...

I don't think those are T70s.... besides the Engines, they look like T65s. Look at the guns, the fusalage.

So

Real or fake. Unauthorized and inaccurate.

Knowing that does not deplete either my excitement for the movie or the potential FFG releases it brings.

Hah! Well this is what bugged me from the beginning:

T65 with T70 scoops

Terrible descriptions for parts

other stuff.

I dunno. I've had drinks. I'm sure there's more. I got all fired up on those two points.

The U wing has been identified as the rebel troop transport from one of the early trailers, so we can confirm that ones existance.

Source? I really hope this isn't true.

so we have Uboats and Uwings in the future.

Terrific lol

inaccurate? maybe.

unauthorized? no.

Pretty sure this was a deliberate "leak." Disney marketing at its finest.

The text basically repeats what everyone knows from the trailer. If the layouts were true mockups, the text would be greek. Instead they have what amounts to PR speak. The same paragraph is used over and over again.

Just imagine if U-Wings also have a viable torpedoe-configuration...

Uh, what? By "Greek", do you mean lorem ipsum?

I've done a fair amount of editing and layout, and I wish I had a dollar for every time I've sent mockups to bosses or clients and gotten a response of "It looks good, but I don't understand where you got this text. We typically only use English in our documents." So now I usually just copy-and-paste something related from another document or semi-finalized text from the same document, slap a "DRAFT" or "NOT FINAL" tag on it, and send it along.

OMG, this...SO MUCH THIS.

Like, really, people...you are in the publishing industry and have never seen a lorem ipsum?!

I've started just using 'text text text text text text text' to block out areas where text is going to be, but the actual wording isn't final, because even the copy+paste from their PR fluff repeating over and over has got me in trouble (IE., WHY DID YOU CHANGE THE TEXT AFTER THE DOCUMENT WAS APPROVED?! Ummm...because it was just a placeholder copy of their background fluff paragraph repeated 14 times on the page back-to-back for layout purposes, and obviously not the final text, which we've since received?)

Not the trailer, but concept art. And the cockpit windows is very much similar to what we see Jyn in during a scene in the trailer.

I used to work in the local comics scene in the 90's and drew all kinds of stuff up for clients. Everything Vorps typed is correct. These projects get done in stages over time.

I had a cool video attached to my blog post about this and it was taken down by the popular movie channel in like an hour. Mouse DAT!

We veterans here know ****-well that this weeks leak was REAL... ALL... OF... IT.

Now go on and setup a nice 300 point Hump-Day Battle to get you to the glory of your weekends!

:D

Hey, it's all Greek to me!

(Yuk yuk yuk)

Some of the early Episode 7 concepts showed E-Wings. But those E-Wings looked nothing like the beautiful ones we have on our tables. So it may well be that these are real concept photos, but not real ships that will really show up in movies.

Having said that, it sounds like FFG already has some information on what ships will be showing up in Rogue One.
