Looking for a game over the internet!

By angelsdecay9712, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Hi, before I start I would like to say I am totally new to warhammer and rpgs in general my friend gave me his 2nd edition warhammer game book however now that I have moved I have no friends what so ever here. Atleast not yet I was wondering since I am so excited to play this if anyone would like to teach me and maybe even let me play. Either through the use of RPtools or maybe even skype or vent(I own a vent and would love to have anyone use it to play a game) . Please I would love to learn and enjoy the warhammer universe aswell. gran_risa.gif

If we could find a way to account for the specialized dice and talent/action/wound/crit cards, tokens, stance meters, etc. I would totally be down for this. A lot of this we could just keep track of on paper individually or something. I am all for trying a game/campaign over Map Tools or OpenRPG with maybe Ventrilo or Skype or something.

Actualy sir thanks to a kind man named jay hafner(emirkol) on the rptools forum their are specialized dice and various tokens and stats already transmited into maptool gran_risa.gif !

Edit: Sorry I may have misunderstood you! If you are talking about the 3rd edition that has not been completed for rptools yet sad.gif .

Hi, it's you :) For anyone else interested: I moderate the Warhammer Fantasy campaign forum at RPTOOLS. I've also done up a 2E campaign with macros and the works.

Here's the forum: forums.rptools.net/viewforum.php

Here's the campaign file and tokens (With a little help from my friends): gallery.rptools.net/v/contrib/emirikol7/

If you have any trouble, just let me know.

Running games on maptool is pretty easy.

Interesting. I've always wondered about Maptool. I wrote the Rulesets for WFRP2 on Fantasy Grounds 1 and 2. Some of the forum members that are here now actually helped with the db population. The rulesets have seen heavy use. Lots of fans. Now that v3 is out, Fantasy Grounds can no longer support the system. The dice for that program are seriously embedded (to prevent cheating I suppose) and can't be changed without some serious code restructuring. There is a request by the new owner to open negotiations with FFG for a ruleset for v3, but if they're talking, they are keeping it under wraps. I'm assuming the new FGII owner will adjust the dice code if a deal is struck, but I'm not holding out hope.

How does Maptool handle the dice? It may be time to switch v-tables. I have a lot of friends and family that no longer live close that would love to play.

Well sir, my knowledge is quite limited but maptool is highly custimizable emirikol made the dice for wfrp for maptool. Im assuming that means that it is specialized for wfrp, maptool itself comes with a default dice tool which works just by typing /roll d10 for instance and i believe the starting dice goes from 2 to percentile sided dice. However as stated by my second post and on emirikols post on the maptool forums 3rd edition has not been transfered to maptool yet however I really want to play the second edition. However I am so new to be honest I am afraid to go to any public gatherings around me preocupado.gif .

The usual dice bots. You can either see the dice faces (which will be the way to go with 3e wfrp), the results, or the math plus results.

So, for 2e, I just took the work that Jesse Burke had done when we played through KARAK AZGAL and improved it:

1) To hit: Highlight your character and roll against your character's weapon skill (same for other skills)

2) Damage: Highlight the opponent and roll damage + modifier.

Some of the guys playing savage worlds have "libary" tokens for multiple reference, but that get's way beyond what I would ever want to do. (ulric's fury is just a 50% chance rather than re-reference).

It's been fun.

Aight, I sent you a friend req. When we both get time I'd like to squeeze in on a game to see how it plays. I've been working on a Warrior Priest lately.

Why not try to find a way to do 3e?

I thought that's what we were talking about. I can already play v2 on FGII.
