I have posted the December U-Chronicle with news from the FFG State of the Game December edition with all the big news.

From your December U-Chronicle:
This will be a very different game when we get these new rules, "... each token has been given new properties and each scenario is being updated accordingly." That is big news. The tokens may not be the same. Though, "... your Tannhäuser components will still be compatible. All of the tokens, maps, character cards, and other items in your copy of Tannhäuser will still be used, albeit in new and exciting ways." So there are big changes ahead.
Do you really expect the next Tannhauser edition will have different game components (e.g., tokens) than the existing edition? I just placed my order and am hoping that only the rulebook itself will change. I don't mind downloading (or even paying $5 for) the new rulebook but I don't like the feeling of buying an outdated version of the game as a whole.
The tokens game-play is changed. The components are unchanged.
New rules will be available for download or a hardcopy may be purchased.
The good news is you will have two rules systems to choose from.
