Ok, maybe not ships, but squadrons:
TIE Striker and U-wing.
Anyone know anything about those?

Striker looks like a poor man's interceptor, and the U-wing looks like the product of a orgy between a y-wing, a pod racer, and that speeder that bounty hunter had in episode 2...
Either way...looks cool!
Is this confirmed as real? I cannot see an image of the U-wing. can someone repost?
The U-wing looks like the love-child of a Y-wing and X-wing.
Edited by ianedigerI think the U-Wing looks like an A-Wing throwing metal horns with X-Wing engines slapped on.
U-wing??... Dallas anyone? Red leader standing by, Bobby standing by... Patrick standing by...
Edited by machinebede1Maybe I can cut the engines and wings off an X-Wing, glue the engines on to A-Wing (also with engines and guns cut off), cut the X-Wing wings to make the forward fins, trim the laser cannons to fit front and center between the fins.
Or I could wait till Rogue One releases and they make them a Rebel Fighter Pack 2.0, but where is the fun in that.
The characters look like they are from a '90 TV show.. especially that red plain armor
What's the betting Director Krennic shows up as a new Imperial admiral?
Having seen this, I'm more convinced than ever that we'll get a tie-in. Which is thoroughly exciting!
My parents , as adults: "They're adding that just to sell new toys"
Me as an adult: "They need to add stuff so that I can buy new toys!"
What disappoints me about it, is that page is the perfect place to explain why it has the forward fuselage prongs...
... But says nothing on the subject, unless it is buried in minutae...

Likely helps with Lift in atmospheric flight.

What, have you never been spaceship jousting before?
We are talking Pre-A-Wing era here. I personally like it.
No... No we're not.
Not anymore...
Rebels makes the A-Wing Canon before ANH.

This Slashfilm article mentions that a lot of this is placeholder text, so I'm hoping for better/fully explanations later.
Maybe the rebs are so poor this is a fighter made from scrap and junkparts?
You know...before they were rolling in dat coin when the meth lab on hoth started paying out...
Prongs are obviously there to drastically increase model fragility necessitating frequent rebuys of said model... but this is just Disney dark side 101
