Such a dumb question but I have to ask....

Still so new to the game but my collection is expanding faster than my knowledge.

If I have Vader in a TIE Advanced then does that stop me having Vader as a crew member in a shuttle?

All logic says it should and I'm assuming that it's handled in the rules by the unique named rule. I just worry that I'm going to encounter someone who says that rule is to stop anyone having a squadron of Vader's in TIE Advanced and that pilots and crew are different card types and are therefore still unique.

Please confirm that logic holds out and that you get one Vader (or any unique) in your list no matter what their role.

You are correct. You only get one Darth Vader, no matter what card type it is.

Yes.

You can only field a single card with each unique name (denoted by a bullet point before the name) on each squad. So if you have Vader pilot, you can't have Vader crew. Same for Dash Pilot/Dash crew, Han pilot/Han crew, etc.

Similarly, you can only take one of Hera piloting the VCX100, Hera piloting the Attack Shuttle, or Hera crew in a given squad.

Any named character with a dot next to their name can only appear once in a squad. That includes as pilots, crew, etc.

In your example Vader would have to be in the TIE or on a ship, he could not be in two places at once.

Thanks everyone. So glad it's the case. It wasn't really a question until my background in Magic and years of encountering 'rules lawyers' made me doubt the exact wording of it all.

Strong is Vader with the Force. But not that strong.

gives an idea for an addition to an 'old ben' konobi or 'past' master yoda card - this card counts as being on any ship with a free passenger slot rather than just the specific ship - +x points

Strong is Vader with the Force. But not that strong.

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

If you had to ask, it wasn't a dumb question. :)

"Mind what you have learned, save you it can"

Yeah your confusing him with another black clad figure who can do that. (Hint: hes not wearing hockey pants)
