*SPOILERS* Rogue One ships

Where are my E-Wings?!!?!?!?!?!?

Can someone tell me the definition of spoiler?

Can someone tell me the definition of spoiler?

A spoiler is when someone reveals something that's hidden or unexpected about an upcoming book, movie, TV show episode, or what-have-you.

For example, if I haven't seen Empire Strikes Back and you tell me that Darth Vader is Luke's father, that's a spoiler: you've spoiled something that would have been a major surprise for me.

Where are my E-Wings?!!?!?!?!?!?

E-wings only came into existence after the Battle of Endor. If they even exist in the new canon, they will most likely stay with that same time-frame.

So aside from the fact that the U-wing is stupid, I'm waiting for the leaked pics of HWK-290s and TIE Defenders please?

More unnecessary TIEs. Yay

My thoughts too. The design and gaming space around TIEs of any kind is so crowded right now.

Dang, Disney. Lucasfilm, We don't need you to invent new TIE variants - there are so many in the EU.

BTW, the Mouse Lucasfilm would make so many people happy if there was even the smallest scene in this movie with the Assault Gunboat...

FTFY

I think you're confused about how to fix things, lol.

I'd like a cool alpha-pass low-movement ship.

U-Wing

At4 Ag1 H4 S4

Dial has all straight greens (1-5), white bank 3 and bank 2, with red hard 3 and bank 1 and no hard 2 or hard 1.

Target Lock, Focus.

Missiles, 1 Crew.

(Named Pilot ability where all engagements count as range 1 so the ship can get 5 shots at any distance)

Basically make it to the ship wrecks house early on but has trouble turning. Hera as a copilot would be nice.

In ROTJ we learned that 'Manny Bothans' died... maybe the alien in this pic is Manny himself.

But it looks like it's just 'Jaun Bothans'.

The many Bothans is RotJ. Death Star two. This is before ANH. Death Star one.

Manny could have been flighting the Empire before DS1.

I'd like a cool alpha-pass low-movement ship.

Congratulations, you've made a Defender?

Have you met the Ghost? It seems you'd like it.

I did originally wonder if this U-Wing thingymabob was more of a transport rather than a snubfighter, but I guess not.

The cockpit section is very Y-Wing-ish.

U-wing:

2 Acc/ 2 Defense/ 4 Hull/ 2 shields

Focus, TL, Jam*

2 Crew, Bomb

* the Jam would be different symbol, new rules, 1 stress at range 1 that applies after "Check pilot Stress" of target ship.

Have a title that says:

Remove (Crew) slots, when a (bomb) requires you to discard it, flip it facedown. At the start of the next activation phase, flip it face up.

Neat little crew carrier with bombing potential. Give it a comparable to Xwing dial.

Aerial Assault Vehicle.....

Areial leads to Cloud Cars

Cloud Cars lead to Snowspeeders

Snowspeeders lead to AT-ATs and a full blown Ground Format for X-Wing! Gozanti's carrying AT-ATs, AT-STs, OMG I'm gonna fart!

Hey I've said before I'd happily play a dzc style ground game from ffg.

So wait. The community gets a glimpse at new stuff...and there is STILL complaints? I'm just jazzed to see new items.

This would confirm my theory that releases will support the movie which immediately follows them. This makes a lot of sense from a marketing perspective as well.

As the resident member of this forum that is fortunate enough to get sneak peeks of upcoming ships I would just like to say a few things about these new ships since its spoiled already.

- U-wing has s-foils that swings backwards about 135 degrees transforming the ship's U profile to a Y.

- A few of you may remember the first concept art image that was official spoiled at last year's Celebration. Its show Rebel commando's disembarking from troop transports. Those are U-wings so yes, they double as troop carriers.

- The Tie Striker has an elongated cockpit.

I have to say I fell in love with these new ships the moment I laid eyes on them, especially the U-wing. Can't wait to see them both in action:)

So a combat vessel that can carry ground troops, huh?

Sort of like an Mi-24 Hind?

That'd be interesting, but not sure how much it fits into game mechanics - unless X-Wing *is* going into ground combat. Otherwise...well, the way these guys are positioned vs the cockpit, they sure aren't going to be "crew" upgrades for it, right?

Oh Chris'll have his boys do it all right, just for this film; another $100 buck box that will be in it's own cute little scale like ALL of the other FFG STAR WARS stuff.

Bet!

I think the troop carrier side will only come in to play in cinematic missions.

There are a few whole-asses here like every wheres...

Like the escort shuttle missions...

:D

Back the McQuarrie artwork for inspiration again. :) The U-Wing looks a little like Buck Rogers' Thunderfighter.

That's what I thought too!

Personally, I like both designs. U-Wing best of the two. Very cool ☺

I would be so happy to see FFG throw some money at the Heroes of Aturi Cluster creator(s?) and produce a retail version. I would buy all the things.

U-Wing looks like a possible large ship based Rebel similar to the Aggressor, while the Striker may be a cheaper, weaker Interceptor or TAP. Could be another choice for Imps in the ln/fo slots.

It carries troops - I can't imagine something as maneuverable as the Aggressor would fit, here. Nah, this is another freighter-sized ship (YT-1300 or bigger), only without crew slots (I don't think these guys in the back can contribute to the space fight in any useful way) or a turret.

As to the Striker - one of two ways I can see that going, based on the 'elongated cockpit' confirmation. Either it's an ordnance carrier (IE., a 'TIE Bomber-light') or it's got a crew slot...in which case, something more like the TIE Bomber-Shuttle variant...ummm...'-light'. In either case, 2-ATK, 3-AGI, 3-HULL, 0-SHLD...crappy TIE Bomber-like dial, either crew slot or torpedo/bomb slots (can't tell which way this is supposed to go based on the concept art)
