Cunning with survival instincts

By RoyalRich, in Imperial Assault Rules Questions

Hi guys hopefully a quick one, I've searched online but can't find anything clarifying this.

If a creature with cunning (e.g. Nexu) has survival instincts on it, does it get the additional block from the evade given by survival instincts?

E.g. survival instincts gives a block and an evade, if the nexu rolls a block and an evade as well, does it get:

A.) 4 blocks and 2 evade

B.) 3 blocks and 2 evade

I think there's some funny interaction there with when you add it to defence results but can't for the life of me find anywhere to support that stance.

Thanks in advance

Survival instincts gives 1 block and 1 evade.

If you roll 1 block and 1 evade, your results are now 2 blocks and 2 evades.
THEN cunning kicks in and gives and extra block for each evade result.

You have 2 evades so you add 2 blocks.

So your total becomes 4 blocks and 2 evades.

Yes, it's a very strong card. Yes it makes a nexu almost untouchable for a turn. Consider it basically as a "don't shoot me this turn" card.

(Adding and removing symbols happens during step 4 of an attack. Weakened is applied first, if present, because it is considered a mission rule, then Survival Instincts and Cunning in the order of the defender's choice, because they are defender abilities. Even if you consider Survival Instincts a mission rule, it happens before Cunning. Then it might interact with weakened though, depending on whether you have initiative in skirmish.)
