Storage Solutions

I just finished the Go7Gaming inserts, and they're great. And there's TONS of extra space left over in the Hoth box for future stuff. http://go7gaming.com/product-tag/ia/

Anyone around here ever made their own inserts? I've been thinking about doing that. I use 3 plano boxes for the three factions, but I'd like to fit everything else (massive figures, cards, tiles, etc) all in one box.

There's also another company in the UK that does a similar foam + cardboard + carry bag system.

Thanks to your tip, I ended up ordering from KR Multicase, and I love it.

I got the Backpack 2 which fits two of their cardboard cases, although at the moment I can easily fit all of my figures (all three box expansions + around half of the a&v packs) in just one of them with a couple of slots to spare. Thankfully, there's a zipper to retract the extra space left by the other back in so that it's all nice and compact. The KR system was a bit confusing at first, but once I figured it out I could order exactly the foam trays that I needed with incredible options for customisation. I have a pick & pluck tray – of which the AT-ST, Bantha and Repulsor Tank take up about half – plus a total of 76 slots in two different sizes (the bigger just about fits a Wampa or Nexu) in the case I'm currently using, and then another 136 slots in the other box for when I need to move on to that. So it's not going to be full any time soon.

The map tiles, which I have organised in numbered plastic bags, fit pretty neatly into the front pocket, although there isn't much room to spare. The hero sheets can go under the lid of the cardboard case so they're safe from bending. The side pockets can take all the cards, dice, doors and tokens, which are currently just bagged, too, although I'm on the lookout for a nicer way to fit those in as well. Since there's still so much extra space in the cases, I was thinking about maybe modifying one of the figure trays (i.e. just cutting off some of the walls between the spaces) to hold all the tokens in neat little slots – and it looks like the size could work for the cards as well, although I'm not sure if the soft foam is enough to hold them in place or if they might get scattered around.

It always felt bad just chucking the figures in a plastic bag, even with the varnish to protect the paint, so all in all I'm pretty happy with finally having just one backpack that fits the entire game without having to worry about the figures flying about inside.

I just keep my IA stuff in my extra large fishing vest, that thing has like 296 pockets. :o -_-

I kept all the boxes and use the short ones for figures and map tiles and the big one for the cards and token box and books.

I bought the Feldherr for Imperial Assault. They fit perfectly into original box.

Here is my take on the storage solution and organization - http://imgur.com/a/Pg1f3

I have a similar setup. Will have to post pictures later. I use sirwillibalds boxes for the cards. I have to reorganize it and all the paper stuff is scanned into my tablet to be carted around that way.

This is my solution - all figures fit in the core and twin shadows and there is still room left (at the moment up to Lando).

Each figure has a neodymium magnet (5x5x1mm) glued to its base, which fits almost perfectly under the base.

With this I can achieve the best usage of space without having the painted figures rub at each other.

for the cards I use Sir Willibalds tuckboxes:

I was less interested in trying to fit it all in the orignal box, and rather wanted something where I can organize everything neatly. This is what I currently have, and it contains everything up to and including Bespin (one copy of each expansion, and 2 copies of Hired Guns)

The Hoth box has all the large map tiles in it, the plastic case has everything else

I bought plastic sleeve books for the rules and campaigns and seperated all the pages, this way I find the pages better survive repeat handling.

The figures are divided into three crates - Imperial, Scum and Rebels. I've grouped them by deployment card (so the three troopers in one compartment will all have the Red 1 sticker on them, for example), to save space I've doubled up on the individual units.
