Colorado Regional AAR

By SacredChao23, in Star Wars: Armada

The Colorado Regional was fantastic, the location was great, and lots of room with room for tons more. We probably gained an extra 4-6 people for regional since the XWing and Imperial Assault Regionals were the same weekend. We had a total of 24 people, which was a good turnout, So without further waiting, here is my AAR!

I ran with an odd list it turns out, no one ran anything similar to mine. I had the Dread Necromancer Rieekan as my commander, and I ran 2 Nebulon B Support Refits, One with Salvation and TRC, and the Second with Rieekan and TRC's. And then I had 3 Identical MC-30 Torpedo Frigates. all with APT's, X17's, and Ordnance Experts. All with a 13 point initiative.

The first game I faced..... NOBODY! I had a Store Championship Buy, In hindsight, I don't think I'd ever use one again. 2.5 hours of sitting around watching other people have fun.

The Second game, I faced someone from my home league (Also with the most similar to mine). He ran Mon Mothma with 2 TRC90's, 2 MC30 Torpedo Frigates, 1 Salvation Neb-B, and 2 YT-2400's. Honestly? I lost the game before we even started, it just took me a turn or so to realize. I won the initiative and chose Superior Position. I flew well, but my opponent flew just slightly better, able to get a lot more back shots off at me, My dice were also rolling quite a bit below average, most shots he didn't even want to use Mon Mothma rerolls. I ended up killing 2 of his ships, he killed 3 of mine, which with the 135 points of objectives he got, gave him a 9-1 win.

The 3rd game I fought a list with 2 ISD-1's, One outfitted for carrier, one outfitted to kill, along with Vader/Dengar/IG88/Rhymer/2 Bombers. He was pretty new to the game, forgot a few things, and hadn't faced a list like mine before. I outmaneuvered him and ended up in a 10-0 win. After the fight, I made sure to give him pointers on how to do better with a list like that (I play against a similar list almost every week).

I ended up with 19 Tournament Points, which barely put me in 8th place, to win a set of the transparent dice! (Which is all I was really hoping for!)

Sorry it's not an incredibly detailed report, but I wasn't feeling much for pictures that day!

are sure that was your list?

Thanks for the AAR...but Tirion's right. The ships you listed alone are 419 points...

Hmm . Common core math seems to be failing armada players lately. Lol

Good sir, i believe you forgot to add your commander. Your 17 pts over 400

yeah not sure were the 419 without the commander is coming from either lol

Okay guys, check this out:

Neb-B Support Refit, Salvation, TRCs -> 51+7+7 = 65 pts

Neb-B Support Refit, Rieekan, TRCs -> 51+30+7 = 88 pts

Mc30c Torpedo, OE, APT, X17 -> 63+4+5+6 = 78 pts

Mc30c Torpedo, OE, APT, X17 -> 63+4+5+6 = 78 pts

Mc30c Torpedo, OE, APT, X17 -> 63+4+5+6 = 78 pts

TOTAL COST -> 65+88+78+78+78 = 387 pts

Which leaves a 13 pt bid. So I think OP probably knows what he's talking about and that probably was his list. :P

Lol technology. Plugged this into armada warlords fleet builder and it gave me 417.

*walks away tail between legs

yeah for some reason it is doubling the upgrades on the mc 30s

This happens when you use the duplicate ship button; multiplies the upgrades on the duplicated ship. I just never use that button anymore.

lesson learned!

I didn't know Armada Warlords had a duplicate ship button, let alone that it was multiplying points wrong. I've recreated the list so many times on that site and on phone calculator and it was always 387, so I know it is right :P

@[€§*@[#çé[#éç°[@[@é*##€

I'm looking at that duplicate ship function now. Gotta find where it bugs out.

edit: it should be fixed now. I'll continue to run some tests but it looks all fine.

Many apologies to sacredchao23! You are correct.

In my case, my math was right, but my reading comprehension was a total failure. I thought you'd had 2 YT-2400s in your list for some reason - that's what gave me the 419. I see your first opponent had them, not you.

Massive fail, my bad. Sorry sorry!!

That said, I really like your list. Maybe I'll give it a try if I pick up a third shrimp. :D

Everyone should have 5. . . yes 5 shrimps. . .

I have only 4, and while fun, I found that it doesn't have enough long range to win games, I would usually end up massively damaging everything, killing one or two ships, and then still losing or drawing :( Also not a lot of initiative bid when you have more than 3.

TRC's or Ackbar is the answer in this. They have enough firepower for my liking in all ranges.

But then, you don't really need 5 shrimps do you?

Sure you do! 5 Shrimps and Ackbar is what 383? Seems legit.

My bad. My brain acted on it's own automatic script and read "TRC" (ie, what you wrote) with "TRC90" (ie, what you did not write)

EDIT: Still not in the ballpark of what I wouuld consider a "need". You clearly need to reset your priorities, Lyr. One "needs" 3 MC30's, whereas 5 MC30's merely qualifies as "preferable".
