Anyone had any success with the beast that is the YV-666 against the horde of PalpAces, U-boats, etc?
Edited by GlobeTrottingIs the YV (even remotely) viable in the current meta?
Slaver with Bossk, Dengar, and Gunner hits like a **** truck, and isn't too expensive at 40 points.
Also been running the hell out of Bossk with VI, EU, Mangler, Outlaw Tech, and K4. 49 points isn't cheap for a 1 agility ship, but it can get its points back very quickly.
IIRC Bossk/Dengar won one of the regionals, so... yes, it's viable.
There have been some successes out there. The opinion seems split between a kitted out named one (mild success) and a Bounty Hunter Party Bus Trandoshan Slaver. Fill the crew, ignore the other slots.
Dengar, Greedo, Boba. K4, 4-LOM, Zuckuss. Pick three, nearly any three, and be surprised at how effective it can be.
Yes. Against U-boats in particular, it's a cheap bulky damage sponge that can punch back.
I have heard great things about generic Slavers as third U-Boat list ship. Not entirely sure about the specific build(s), but its hard to go wrong on great scum crew.
I had amazing success with a Bossk/Tel list at the Stele Open. And many others are having luck as well. It would seem our scaly friend is finally finding his way into the lime light, and I am so pleased by that.
His generics are my go to ship for filler in Scum as well. No K-thingy, sad B-Wing, TLT-wing or Bug Zapper for me. A Slaver with Dengar and your sprinkling of other crew is a thing of beauty.
Seen both the Transdosian Slaver and Boosk have good impact vs current meta builds and do very well. I've not had a chance to use it but I think it's one of those ships if you are used to flying it you can do well

It is solid and viable builds are diverse.
Bossk scoffs.

Yep...I ran a Bossk/Marksmanship/K4/Boba, Kavil/TLT/Swarm, Thug/TLT list at Stele and made the cut...
Fly the Ys together, swarm the Thug up to a 7, use the TLTs to strip tokens and deal damage, and then follow up with a TL'd Marksmanship Bossk shot. Hits like a freaking truck. I've handled Palp Aces with a good degree of success and also Uboats in it.
They key is keeping them relatively cheap. Given the prevalence of plasma torps they'll likely have given up at least half MOV after two shots.
A buddy of mine runs a pretty nasty Bossk with Dengar, Gonk, and Mangler. Expensive, but hard to kill. Cheap slavers (K4 droid, and/or Outlaw Tech) are nice meat shields, and Latts Rizzi has been fun helping take out Aces. If only the Scum had a true ace in a maneuverable ship...
Slaver with 4LOM, Zuckuss, and Dengar IMO.
Expendable but hard to ignore.
I flew Slaver with Dengar, 4-LOM, Zuckass, dampeners was pretty effective at pushing damage through for 35 points
Ninja'd
Edited by skins1924You need to pair it with some agile stuff because like the Shuttle, it can be hard to keep pointed in the right direction.
If only the Scum had a true ace in a maneuverable ship...
For sure, it's what the faction is really lacking. The M3A (too weak and unsuited to the role) and the starviper (too expensive and suffers with current PS levels) are (currently) not the answer.
scum have 5 aces in maneuverable ships. they are IG-88A, IG-88B, IG-88C, IG-88D and Dengar.
*edit* to add dengar because jumpmasters are pretty awesome dial-wise.
Edited by kryssThis is the very viable Bossk build that won the 68 person Denver regionals this past weekend.
Bossk, Crack Shot, Concussion Missile, K4 Droid, 4-LOM, Guidance Chips (44 points)
Dengar, Punishing One, Deadeye, Plasma Torp, Extra Munitions, Recon Spec, R4 Aggro, Guidance Chips
Trandoshan Slavers can be good too

Looks pretty sweet! I'd go for VI and EU, but thats personal preferance.
Edit Actually screw that, I am boring. This is what I am obligated to do with this knowledge:
Bossk (45)
YV-666 (35), Crack Shot (1), Concussion Missiles (4), K4 Security Droid (3), Boba Fett (1), 4-LOM (1), Guidance Chips (0)
Dengar (55)
JumpMaster 5000 (33), Predator (3), Tactician (2), Unhinged Astromech (1), Punishing One (12), Engine Upgrade (4)
Thats going to be one hell of a missile!
Edited by Admiral DeathrainI won our epic league tournament, and my fleet had this (amongst other things):
Trandoshan Slaver: 4-Lom, Greedo, Boba Fett and title.
A nice meat shield that takes a while to kill and is too dangerous to leave alive around epic ships (because of Greedo and Boba Fett).
Slaver with Bosk gunner and Zuckuss was annoying to fly against.
