When's FFG going to put out a Warhammer poster map?

By Emirikol, in Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay

Need.. big poster map.. now.

Well, I can wait with it until next october. It would the perfect gift for my girflfriend's birthday - she loves medieval maps, she loves Warhammer, and I suppose you already know, what she would love the best... Of course, a map of the Old World. :)

I'd love to see a nice map of the whole world; kindda like the one in the WFB High Elves army book, but with more detail.

Yes, a big high-res, and detailed map of entire world.

Pretty please gran_risa.gif

Even a cool high-res poster of the Old World would be neat to have.

That would be nice, but I would be happy simply having pdf's of the maps in the back of the PHB.

But it won't cover the stains on the wall. The blood of dead player characters...

I have several Old World posters. I would buy another without question. I love maps.

They might, but I wouldn't count on it. I think it was done in the past, but didn't sell well enough, so BL/BI stopped doing it. People kept asking for one, but the response was always "there's not enough interest."

The best one I have, I think it came from an old White Dwarf. It has an inset that shows the whole world. Anyone know what issue it came from?

Around the 300's

You know what would be a great idea? Is if marketing at FFG could mail people who run WFRP3 at conventions a poster map. Yea, that would be really cool.

Yeah, and people that run demos. That would be cool. I support this idea!

It's settled then. FFG, by mandate and decree must provide us all with a Giant poster map.

In 3D!!!

Heh.

I'm guessing the FFG Elves are busy making toys for all the good boys and girls.... might want to ask Santa directly aplauso.gif

How about a puzzle map....

Which contains details for about a days travel something that builds with the players knowledge...

I know it sounds crazy but its in keeping with current ideas ...

What do you think....

First I was all pffft. Then I was hrm. Later I was all like Hmmmm.

That is a very cool idea, I had a similar reaction to Nezzir.

You could use GW:s Mighty Empires for some pretty neat campaign map. Especially if you have the old maps from WFRP1 with hexes... gran_risa.gif

I'm starting a campaign and my players know nothing about the warhammer world (geography etc)

I'm actually thinking of printing several maps onto large (a2?) paper and then laminating, mounting and then adding a scratch off type coating.. similar to what you would find on instant lottery tickets.

something like this on a larger scale.

Then I'm thinking about marking out some kind of grid on top (hex or square) so that players don't entirely know what's coming up when they move about in the world.

Could be fun...

While I always support more maps, and certainly hope that FFG will be producing one, in the meantime, you can get some very nice maps here.

I have the Black Spectrum maps as an one enormous map but I can't remember from where I downloaded it. I printed it on four A4:s and I still had to resize it to about half of the size that it would have been!

Still - I'm also waiting for Andy to finish his map for us. gran_risa.gif

bump and speaking of maps, I just came across this link to a place called The Cartographer's Guild.

If anyone's going to be making their own map, there are some great tutorials here.
