I'm liking the look of Nera a lot, although I suspect I'd need Biggs to draw some fire away from her...
The G-1A has the edge over B-Wings for me, particularly against Scouts. The Evade action notably adds to their durability, making it notably more likely it'll take at least three torpedoes to kill one, and PS 3 gives it something of an edge. Throw a FCS on a Ruthless Freelancer for 25 points, and a I think four of them would be quite meaty.
If I'm just wanting to kill B-Wings with Imperial ships, four Tempest Squadron Advanced with Cluster Missiles, Accuracy Correctors and Guidance Chips should do the job nicely.
But this still guarantees only two hits twice, right? You can't AC into two hits and then use the chips afterwards on the third die, correct?
The Chips are free. If you roll three hits, you've got three hits. If you roll two hits, you GC the third. If you roll a crit, GC it to hit crit. Anything less, AC it. Minimum of 16 hits from your massed Cluster salvo. That can erase a Ghost.
AC then works on your primary attacks too.
