So like many here, I've *seen* X-Wing matches streamed on Twitch (and Youtube, and etc).

The 'how to' from the software side seems pretty straightforward (well...-ish, I guess - not clear on what does the overlay that provides the list details).

Question I really have is...what kind of hardware is in play? I mean...how the heck do you set up a camera directly over the table like that? Is there a very (VERY?) long mounting arm or something that allows for it (and if so, how on earth would you stabilize the resulting recording such that it doesn't shake the screen every time someone bounces the table?)

Having only seen the output of those feeds, the how-to on the setup side of them is a bit elusive...

For the Back to Dials stream from Denver Regionals yesterday, we built a PVC frame around and over the table so that it could hold our lights and camera. It was nice, you get a good top-down view that way.

Yeah, would be interested. Store we are running the regionals at has ceilings...I dunno, 30 feet above the floor? Sort of warehouse-scale. Can't imagine any 'suspended' solution working...
