Kindred Fire

By UmarSlobberknocker, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi everyone!

Is Kindred Fire available yet? Cause I opened the RTL-app this morning and it still says "Coming Soon". Could be I'm in Belgium and we get the campaign later?

You need to do an update, then just go to New Campaign and its listed there ready to play

Many thanks!!!

Went to the play store and downloaded the update. Now Kindred Fire is playable! Can't wait to try this one out; anyone played it yet?

I played it with two other friends on the public holiday in Australia. We hadn't played the goblin mini-campaign, so this was our first exposure to Road to Legend. Overall, everyone found it the most fun of all the Descent modes we've tried (base, campaign, co-op, etc). Some things we've been conditioned to do (obsessively collecting search tokens) aren't as necessary as they are in other play modes. We're two major quests, and two minor quests in, and we've found it pretty easy so far - only one hero KO. We're playing on normal difficulty, though.

"For instance, Merick Farrow features prominently in the Kindred Fire campaign. With the Merick Farrow Lieutenant Pack, you can replace the token from the Core Set with a beautifully sculpted figure, and you also unlock a new peril that can cause Merick Farrow to invade your quest, even if he wouldn’t normally appear in it!"

So if I own the expansions that have the token and card but not the figure packs for lieutenants (mainly because they are out of stock) can't I mark that I have the pack in the collection. Or will the app call for something in that pack that the expansion didn't have?

The lieutnants in the packs have specific cards with small differences in their abilities and stats (agent cards). The peril use this and not the lieutnants cards in the core box / expansions.

Ah I see, thanks for the insight. Now if they would just get off the boat and into stores...

Love this! I'm kind of a Descent junkie. I own everything for 1st, despite not really being able to get game s(I soloed a bit, but mostly got into collector mode). I've done some stuff with 2nd, but this app is really my ideal way to play. I've come to realize that I really don't like the 1 vs Many style of game, especially one as long as a good game of Descent.

So, I've been playing the campaign solo with two characters. Mostly having a great time, but the scaling for 2 characters feels a bit off. There are a bunch of places that they place the maximum number of monsters ignoring group restrictions that make things really really rough even with the extra attack. It more about the amount of damage that can come in and action economy. The extra attack action helps, but IMO not always enough. So, if you are going to try a 2 character game, keep it in mind.

(I've taken to reducing some monster adds to the group limit disregarding the instructions. It's a solo game for my own pleasure, so no harm no foul)
