Custom Card League: Submit your entries now!

By Babaganoosh, in X-Wing

I had originally wanted as an additional movement, but I realized it needs a qualifier to set it off when the dial is revealed to make it a movement or maneuver, so listed below is a new card that would add a qualifier, also listed below is a card that would make it an action as has been suggested. Using it as a movement is more restrictive than as an action. I leave it to your choices to see which might have the best use in our game.

I've updated my V-Wing submission. No functional changes, but I've made a V-Wing silhouette so they look prettier. I've updated my original post for all of the pilots, but I'll repost the generics here to make it easier for you.

Also, if it's useful to anyone else (I know Razgriz25thinf has a V-Wing submission of his own), here's the silhouette I used.

Is there a dial? That's critical to a 15 point ship.

There is.

Oh, Mangipan, you lovely bastard. Thanks for the silhouette, dude. I was having to use the A-Wing!

Here's my updated Generics with the new silhouettes.

Now that's a dial that definitely scores points for uniqueness. My one concern with it though is that it's inferior to the A-wing, a ship yours shares a statline and cost with. Sure, you've got +1 PS and Barrel Roll, but the Scyk is proof that that doesn't really cut it in the 12-20 range. Might be worth knocking a point off, or maybe knocking two points and a shield off.

It does also have a much better upgrade bar - at 15 points your A-Wing is just that, but you've got some really versatile options on the V-Wing bar (Particularly, Salvaged Astromechs are all extremely cheap and pack some serious utility.) All that adaptability can't come for free, there has to be some sort of opportunity cost.

Edit: A good example of this is Scum Z-95s. Point for point the generics are strictly worse than their Rebel counterparts without upgrades, each losing a point of pilot skill for the same cost. But with the illicit slot they find more flexibility with cards like Feedback Array and Dead Man's Switch. Same deal here, in theory.

Youre mixing up the two vwing submissions :P. His doesnt have barrel roll

aaargh same art

In that case even more of a case for a points reduction.

I think its pretty close to right. You have a worse worse dial than th awing, but having the extra ps and illicit and salvaged astro upgrade slots makes up for it i think. With unhinged astro that thing could zoom around the board pretty quick. Compared to the scum z95 you have an extra agility, +1 PS, a bomb slot and a salvaged astro slot. And a boost and evade (at the cost of no TL). I think all that is worth 3 points. Youve got an extra shield over the scyk, boost instead of br, and again, the salvaged astro and bomb slots, and the illicit slot. if say thats worth it even if the scyk is a point or two overcosted

Charging for slots was a Wave 1 mistake.

Evencwithout the slots, compared to an awing you can drop at most 1 point for the dial, and you add 1 back for the PS, so its still right

And an agility and +1 PS is worth 3 points over a z95.

Love the ship design. Would the gentle 2s being green as well be ok at that price?

Hutt Cartel Yacht: FINAL SUBMISSION

803233-.jpg

Design Notes: I cleaned up a few things and changed the Yacht a little. It is now very difficult to pilot if you have stress, which demands that you have some kind of economy with the stress management... which is one of the fun ways to design Jabba upgrade cards (as stress relievers). The double cannon slots is meant to allow for inclusion of ion, flechette, or tractor beam. This ship is designed primarily as a platform for Jabba (or other Hutt character), and is designed to be synergistic with Jabba the way I have designed him, to be everything about his appetites and the scene surrounding him. But this is cool because it is a fan ship and making the actual ship will have to be some kind of conversion, just one of a kind.

When are people going to get to vote on Named Unique Pilots if you're only taking Generics in your Ship Entries document?

I mean I don't see the Scum YT-1300 or VT-49 Decimator, or the Rebel TIE fighter.

Just the three Generic YG-4210s.

We’ll be doing ships first, then upgrades and unique pilot cards after we know which 4 ships we’ll be creating.

If I read this right there isn't any point in submitting unique pilots until it is known which 4 are the final generic sets. I don't understand why you submitted a Unique X-wing Pilot if it isn't going to get voted on.

Am I going to have to come up with some Generic Scum VT-49 Decimator Pilots and Generic Rebel TIE fighter pilots as well?

By the way, what time zone is your midnight submission deadline?

OK 3 more cards, one a double sided.

Chaff double sided replace either torpedo or missile and get a 1 time agility boost, see card for particulars

Double Load: Limited card allows an extra shot with missiles or torpedoes at an agility cost while it is equipped. Designed for those ships that only have 1 missile or torpedo slot.

Named unique pilots are submitted and voted on for all ships after the 4 ships are selected (in the first round of voting). In the meantime, it was fine to put up uniques for ships that are submitted to give people an idea of what the final ships may look like, but I decided it would be better to subdivide the ships and unique pilots to allow ships to succeed or fail based on their stats and base cost, and unique pilots to succeed or fail based on their abilities. Otherwise we'd have to vote up or down on packages of cards, and people might have been confliucted about voting up or down a card pack based on components of it. For example if there was a great ship pack submitted, with a massively OP unique pilot, it would get downvoted for the OP pilot and fail. This way the good ships get through on their own merits (stats and cost), and unique pilots pass or fail on their merits (ability and cost).

Only pilots for ships that will be in the final product will be accepted as submissions, for obvious reasons. Since X-wings are already in vassal, my unique x-wing pilot is guaranteed to be a legal submission, as are many other pilots submitted here, including the Horton Salm card everyone should be voting for (the only card I will be openly endorsing), as well as many others, including cross-factional versions such as your Vuffi Raa card. Since there is a generic version of the YT-1300 in the game, I'm not requiring a new scum generic to allow a unique pilot in the scum faction.
