Hi Folks! I just got my shipment of the remaining three epic ships for my son and I to dive in!

Quick question, I understand how "Youngster" works with passing on the "Action:" only elite upgrade, but my question is can he also use any other elite talent if it's used only for himself? (just to take advantage of his cheap cost of only 15 points, Pilot skill of 6 vs. Black Squadron for 1 point cheaper and 2 Levels less on Pilot skill). I do understand that his "unique ability" would effectively be negated, but I just wanted to know as an alternative to a Black Squadron Pilot, thanks!

They can't use his ability but yes, you could treat him as a TIE fighter Royal Guard Pilot. One point more than the Black Squadron Pilot for 2 more PS. Not a bad deal however you look at it.

The reason you don't see it is there's only one of him, which means you can't spam him. And the metagame adores spam.

There are a number of ships whose abilities might never come into play even if the ship is in play. Just because it has an ability doesn't mean you have to try to use it.

Some pilot abilities are more of a pain to use or require an entire list to be built around them.

And poor Fel's Wrath, has to get killed to use his ability, and has no EPT to justify his use. He's just a higher PS scrub Alpha that no one wants to joust.
