The missing heroes and Monsters from Road to Legend

By danman71, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Since the conversion kit isn't supported.

Shards of Everdark when released will have the Ice Wyrms and Shades so all monsters will eventually be supported

Shards of Everdark will have the following 4 heroes:

Arvel World Walker

Karnon

One Fist

Steelhorns

The following 12 heroes are not available unless they choose to eventually support the conversion kit (unlikely) or they are released in a future Hero pack:

From the Base Game

Bogran the Shadow

Landrec the Wise

Mad Carthos

Red Scorpion

Varikas the Dead

From Altar of Despair

Aurim the Sorcerer

Eliam the Dervish

Kirga the Tracker

From Well of Darkness

Brother Gylr

From Tomb of Ice

Laughin Buldar

From Promo

Tobin Farslayer

From Dungeonquest Crossover

Hugo the Glorious

This is sort of my question. I have the conversion kit, and have skipped the hero and monster packs. Does the conversion kit include everything from currently released hero and monster packs?

For a guy like me who doesn't have any Descent games. When I tried Road to Legend, I thought it was like:

"Ah.. the game, wanna try that,"

Saw the Heroes you can choose from:

"They have even 'Nanok of the Blade'!!? from SotS, they didn't review his card yet."

When the campaign started:

"Oh yeah, time to unleash Nanok on the field"

The map looks empty, even if they shows which are active:

"This game doesn't look finish, why is the game telling me to put..."

And it was then it finally hit me:

"I don't have the (board)game"

I got really sad... I'm poor. :(

I would bet that the last 12 missing heroes will be comming soon in new heroes and boxes with new monsters along.

Or maybe another format, but I wouldn't be so sure

I just want to know who Laughing Boulder is.

I just want to know who Laughing Boulder is.

He is the double-axe wielding barbarian. He can used a two-handed weapon one handed and make 3 attacks. He is actually quite good. Disappointed he isn't out yet

The missing characters do not seem to matter much. We played last night with several character that were not supported and just choose characters in the app that were of the same type (i.e. mage, scout, warrior, etc.). Since the app only tracks the Class Deck you choose as long as you pick a character that can select that Class Deck you should be okay. We played through 3 quests so far and found nothing specific that prevented us from playing any character regardless of whether it was supported or not.

The app doesn't really track classes too. You could uses own custom class, as long as it is from the same archetype

Actually some travel events specifically track which class you have... in particular a little cementary event that had choices greyed out (un-clickable) for

Necromancer and Bounty Hunter, neither of which was in our party. We also got a different travel event that had a choice for Wildlander (also not in our current party).

Yes, I know that, but it's small part and can be avoided

Yes I know, but the game DOES track your class and I'm convinced the Heroes and Classes you pick effect which open groups the app selects as well.

We have a low Might group and suspiciously keep getting open groups like Bane/Cave Spiders, Bandits, and one side quest (the one with the Devious Merriods) kept cycling these 2 peril events that would say if Poisoned, Heros takes X: Damage, or a similar one that said All Poisoned Heroes are now Diseased. All Heroes are now Poisoned.

Seems too convenient to be coincidence for a party of 2 Heroes with 1 Might and 1 Hero with 3 Might. Plus that Whisper in the Winds keeps making poor Corbin test his Knowledge...

Update - just in case if someone mist it:

It looks like Red Scorpion is in one of the new Runebound expansions. If they have resculpted her that bodes well for a possible future Hero & Monster Collection.

Also the new minis included in Drakkon looks like the characters from the Descent 2nd edition box art. Those could eventually be new Descent Heroes.

In drakon, scale is way to small as they are.

I'm quite surprised Varikas The Dead still hasn't come into the game. Red Scorpion as well really.

Varikas is in Runewars, in the new Runewars and in the old Descent/Runebound.

Red Scorpion is in every single iteration of Runebound except the new Runewars.

It's really weird not to bring them into Descent yet!

I hope the next H&M Expansion may include Red Scorpion and Hugo the Glorious.

It would be nice to have gnolls and some ghouls as well, and maybe a Lieutenant pack with Kalladra (I use Vallyndra in DungeonQuest at the center as a reminder of the menacing dragon at the dungeon)

Any news about a new Heros and Monsters? I really miss some of the missing heroes... :(

There is no news. I would be ecstatic if there were, but there is not.

We have been waiting a long time to hear about those heroes. If we heard, for example Varikas and Red Scorpion (Red Scorpion has already shown up in Runebound) were on the horizon... that would be a great sign for the game.

The mini only, not his stats, since it's runebound's one
