Literally "broken" ships need fix help

By churchwarden, in X-Wing

Like the title says. I dropped a b wing and a z95. Broke both guns off the small wings of b wing and one side of z95. Now.....cant find the pieces to glue back on. Any suggestions for replacement guns? I tried some imperial guard 40k stuff but it all seems too big. .......

No such thing. Strap lascannons to them.

I broke one of the guns off of my z95 and I found that a micromachine Xwing cannon works pretty good. Thanks to the new movie, micromachines are back in stores. If you have a Walmart in your area, they even have singles in a "random" pack for $2. Just feel the packs until you feel an Xwing (either one will work) and get it. Clip the needed gun(I did both on mine so they would match) and your good to go.

Maybe trim a paperclip or piece of grass rod to the right length?

Hobby shop for plastic models. Or flying models. Get brass or aluminum tubes or rods of very small diameter.

Paperclips would be the most readily accessible things of the right size.

You can also easily get safety pins in a range of diameters, if you can't get hold of brass rod.

Or just model on some battle damage.

Micro machines!!! I hadnt thought of that!

My kids have some of those....i'll just wait until they are asleep!

Combat Wombat brass barrels for the Z and Battletech gatlings for the B (via Iron Wind Metals)

How would some green stuff do to stick them back on?

A little bit, sculted and then painted, would do the job (I imagine)...

You'll need some glue as well. GS on its own won't hold them well enough.

I suddenly feel like I should get around to rebuilding my 3D printer and start making up replacement B-wing and X-wing cannon...

I've lost the cannon from two of my B-wings (both the right hand side one, oddly), but the cluster/pylon is still there on the wing, so it's never really bothered me. Consider it a short-bore cannon; something for close range pew-pewing, while the others handle long range.

old plastic battleship models. full of assorted gun sizes....

Tooth picks, glue and paint.

I know that paperclips are used a lot.. the lOcala hobby store may have some fine plastic rods to cut up and use..I haven't tried a toothpick but it seems a good choice if it's not to big around.. I would say sorry and make them into debris field

sewing needles and a tiny bit of green stuff will replace the Z95s guns and make some pew pew action if you paint well.

I need to fix my kwing one of these days.

Those turret guns in front are way too easy to snap off!

So I discovered last night one of my bwing guns had snapped off as well.

Luckily the piece was still in my box.

It took a bit of filing on the ends with a nail file. But a dab of super glue got it reconnected with no obvious evidence it had broken off.

So glad I just ordered some battle foam to hopefully end ships breaking in my plano box.

I made 3d printable ones with a flatter profile. Unfortunately didn't have a good enough printer to preserve the gun barrel detail.

Wow! I was convinced this was yet another post whining about how broken the T-65's are.

I bought this for a few bucks specifically to fix a B-Wing. If anyone wants me to send them a variety pack (in pairs of course) of a dozen or so for $1, hit me up with a PM.

You'll need a pin vice, but if you get it mounted properly, it will not break again.
