First one...

Am I missing something or is this a bug? In a couple of the side quests so far it has introduced a monster as a named character. It tells me to place that character on square X (for example, Boris the Elemental) and tells me to defeat it to win. Then, when it comes to the monster turn to activate it says "Activate Elemental Minions", then once you click done it then says "Activate Elemental Master" i.e. Boris.

Now, am I supposed to be placing all the Elementals' when it tells me to place this named dude, or is it just bugged and thinks that any monster placed is part of a group? When it wants me to place a Monster group it quite clearly says so, and tells me all the squares to place them.

Question two - What is X when its not named? Some say "where X = armour die rolled" but others just say "Heal X" with no mention as to what that is. Is there a base X rule I've overlooked?

First - Make a spoiler alert in our post - this is part of the fun !!!

Maybe a bug or error. The quest say to place one master elemental, or another monster, ignoring group limits. Better send the question for FFG.

I made up the situation, monster and name - so hopefully no spoilers :)

Edit: If there later turns out to be an Elemental called Boris, this is purely coincidental!! :D

Can you bring a example ? X is usually a variant valor in a skill or a surge - Sorcery X: After making an attack roll, this monster may convert up to X range to damage , or up to X damage to range - if a monster have Sorcery 2 in this card, he is up to convert 2 range for damage, and 2 damage to range.

1) The queue for activation comes up if any monsters from that group are on the map. If there are no minion elementals, just click "all minions activated" without doing anything on the board (just like if a monster is told to do an action it can't currently do, just skip it).

2) Did you check the info panel (the skull looking thing?) There should be information in that dialog box that tells you everything you need about the monsters if it differs from their card. Additionally, some information might be found on the monster cards themselves (that is, the description for flesh moulders says "Mend X..." but on the front of the card, the minions have Mend 1 and the master has Mend 2.

1) Great thank you :)

2) No, I can't see anything.

I dont have an example at the moment as I just completed a quest and closed the app, but from memory I couldnt see any obvious clues. I'll make a note tomorrow when I next play.

Thank you for the help

In the RtL rules pdf, it says that a value of X is always the value it shows on the card- so it's the same value it would normally be for that monster.

Thank you!

There is a Master Elemental in a some quest named Boris. Interesting.

Really? I'm fairly sure you're joking, but on the off chance you're not... thats kinda spooky!
