Looking for some input as to ways I could make the bid more competitive, and any comments on how this fleet looks as is/strategy tips/ways to incorporate wave 3. Still a relatively new player

the general thought is that even if I lose the initiative, I can still present my opponent with multiple dilemmas (Pride, Scurggs with or without Yavaaris, Dash). I once had every single ship and squadron in the front arc of an ISD with Gunnery Team, except Pride, but he was still only able to attack 2 targets, and he still got destroyed.

Some things I've done in the past is to have engine techs on Yavaaris and loading up with a Nav token from Tantive. When going first, this is very useful for getting it in and out of the danger arc of whatever ship I'm trying to hit with bombers (it always and inevitably winds up in the front arc when facing an ISD).

-I'm incredibly lucky with CR90 navigation

-i used to run B-wings with yt1300s instead of X-wings, but I like the maneuverability of Scurrgs

-I used to run yt2400 instead of Dash, but I like his bomber ability/own defense tokens

-have another Scurrg/yt2400 I could add in (also Nym)

-only have 1TRC

I worry that you don't have enough squadron commands for all your fighters - you'd need to set all your corvettes to squadron to do so, when a CF or nav might be better instead. Something as simple as upgrading an Xwing to a YT2400 will help ensure your squadrons are always contributing. Consider dropping ECM or Engine Techs to pay for that?

Bomber Command center on a Transport would be really nice for this list, as would Toryn Farr, once wave 3 arrives. Not sure what do drop to get them though...Dodonna's Pride perhaps? You can make up so me of the lost firepower by putting TRC on Jaina's light...

Thanks! I think those will both be great contributions. Especially looking forward to incorporating wave 3, possibly putting in 2 transports w/bomber command for Dodonna's Pride. I think that'll really solve my squadron activation issue.

As far as current squadron activations available to myself, what you postulated is what I typically do with Tantive, to use squadron commands. I keep Tantive and Yavaaris within earshot of each other pretty much the whole time, and I'll use Tantive as a sacrificial piece (moving between Yavaaris and target to obstruct LOS, choosing commands based on the tokens I want Yavaaris to have, occasionally ramming). It's pretty low cost compared to other ships.

So what I've done is to remove ECMs from Dodonna's Pride and replace an X-wing with the yt2400, (389/400). It's one less bomber in my arsenal, but you had a great point about squadron activations, and I mainly used the Xs as fighter screens anyways.

First, never put Adar Talon on the Yavaris. You need Adar Talon on another ship so that you can activate your chosen squadron first, move it into position, shoot, and then deactivate it. Now when the Yavaris goes you are not moving said squadron and so it can shoot 2 more times (for a total of 3 shots). Having said this, drop Dash for Luke and do the above activation trick. Now he can potentially take down 6 hull ships all by himself. And, since you have Dodonna, you have another reason to take Luke. The 4 points you get for this trade can go toward bid or to convert squadrons up ... like an x-wing to a YT-2400 or Skurrg.

Second, drop ECM on Dodonna's Pride. Use the points to upgrade x-wings to YT-2400s and/or swap for Dutch Vander and/or Wedge for good anti-squadron shenanigans..

Alright, so here's what I have so far. I have taken Adar off Yavaaris but I don't know where to put him. I know he should probably go on Tantive, but I'm just so used to the Raymus/Tantive combo that I'm having a hard time of it.

Hmmm, if you run Tantive as a sacrificial blocker for Yavaris, do you need it be the relatively expensive TRC90 version? It would seem that a cheap CR90b with Raymus and Tantive would be just as effective at the close - med ranges that Yavaris usually operates at.

As far as Adar, you could consider putting him on the flagship. But it depends on how you fly the ships...it'd need to be in range of wherever Luke and Yavaris are. You might have to run a second up-close corvette,

In the end Yavaris might be the only place for Adar. You lose out on the move and attack the first time, but once stuck in Luke will still get 3 shots off.

So I put Adar back on Yavaaris, kept the TRC90, and had a game against an imp with a pretty aggressively anti-squadron fleet last night. Won initiative and played superior positions. Totally annihilated him in terms of points. I'm thinking superior positions might be a better objective for me scoring wise. I'd originally chosen minefields in hopes of getting to use Dodonna for any crits from the mines and any deviously placed asteroids.

Switching in those rogue activations was a huge bonus, so thank you for that advice. I lost them both, but they were great at chasing down ships and attacking the rear for tokens. Sadly, Luke died almost off the bat, and Jan followed shortly thereafter, so I didn't get to take out his imp, but I scored more than enough tokens to make up for it. Tantive died, and Yavaaris was on the brink.

The way this match turned out, an SW90 would have done very well, but I'm still iffy on trading the 7point initiative bid for the TRC90 which could in general, in my opinion, last another round, take one more activation, and get off more potshots. I'm happy with my current bid, but I definitely think I could use it in the future.

I would put Adar on a vette and put raymus on yavaris. Then you could move a squad (Luke) into position with the vette and untap him. Now your yavaris activates and gets the free token, activating 3 squads, including Luke for the double tap
