Mynock Squadron Podcast XVI: Biophysical Talks Defenders

By Mynock Delta, in X-Wing

I really enjoyed the brief talk on stealth device, leverage, and hull. It was very insightful and helped me understand when and why I was right or wrong on a stealth/hull pick.

I am not impressed by defenders. The jousting metrics will not be enough for them to make a deep impact IMO. I love the ships, but I don't expect them dynamically shifting the meta. Now the new bombers on the other hand...

Have you had the chance to test them out? The bombers are great. Defenders are phenomenal.

I have played against a lot of Ves and a few Rhyads on Vassal. Not many glaives yet. I'm not blown away.

Just curious, what are the typical builds you're seeing. Also, do you think the poor results you've observed are more to do with a lack of quality in the ship or a lack of familiarity with it? Despite the improved efficiency noted by MajorJuggler, they are still ships that will fly a lot differently than a typical Ace in the same point bracket, and there might be a bit of a learning curve.

I'm baffled by this aswell. In my few proxy games triple D (Vessery 2 glaives) has been a brutal jousting list.

They seem to get out positioned pretty regularly in the games I have had and seen. Rhyad is a beast though.
