I mean... that's the most expensive title out there. I could fit on a Tala squadron pilot. That's 1 more attack then the title and 4 more hull.

In my mind, if you take the title, you have to do a 2 ship list. Not 3. You could do 3 but bare bones

I'm trying to run Punishing One with a Z95 mini-swarm - 5 ships total.

I reckon Punishing One is worth 12 points, so long as you keep Dengar alive long enough. Obviously 3/4 dice per shot is better than 2/3 dice per shot - without the title, I feel Dengar becomes rather toothless.

Definitely for Dengar, slightly questionable for the other named pilots, not at all for Scouts.

Protorps and EM is half the cost, but only gets you two shots, and only in arc, and action-dependent.

It's also worth comparing with similar titles and similar prices of similar ships - Dengar vs Superdash for instance - Dash pays 12 points for his 4-SWT and his gets a donut hole in exchange for 4 dice and no range bonuses at 2 and 3. And in terms of the costs of the ships, they're virtually identical, fully loaded dash and folly loaded dengar come to around 56 points.

It's just right IMO, and I hope they keep to this model for PWTs, of giving low power primaries, but a unique title to increase them.

Tel can really stretch those 12 points out if you build him right. People saying Dengar is the only good use of the title should really give Tel a chance. With Hull Upgrade you are essentially spreading those 12 points out over 12 points of combined hull and shield, on top of 2 evade dice.

Agreed on Tel - it's more marginal than Dengar, but definitely not bad.

The difficulty with any use of P1 for me is what to run with it. Scum are lacking the aces they need to do the equivalent of RAC/Vader or Dash/whoever, so the second stringer always feels like a compromise to me. I like Dengar/Guri, but Guri's PS is just too low. I like Dengar/Bossk, but the whole thing with Bossk being unable to turn round is painful.

Otherwise, Dengar/N'Dru/Z I think might have some legs, but I need to try it out.

Agree with a couple other posters above. The two ways to do damage with a JumpMaster (which supposes that you're not building a BumpMaster) are to load it with Torps or to have the title. Manaroo and Contracted Scout can use Torps, but since Dengar gets more attacks he probably wants the title to make more use out of his ability. Tel also wants the title because his ability begs for him to be equipped with a Hull Upgrade, and if he has a Hull Upgrade, he can't have guidance chips, making torpedoes slightly sub-optimal.

I just don't like Dengar. I've tried him, and he dies too fast for my tastes. I like VI, Title, K-4, Unhinged and Hull Upgrade on Tel. Works as a fat pwt with some great action economy. Dengars ability isn't that amazing IMO. The only thing he really has over Tel is natural PS9.

It's pretty spectacular when you have people opting to take range 2 or 3 shots at your other ships instead of taking range 1 shots at Dengar, just to avoid his return fire.

1 less agility, no double tap, and fewer greens, and no white s loop.

3 more Hull and 1 more shield which are much better than 1 green die on Dengar, nope P1is OC by 3-4 points
