Was playing a friendly game last night with my Attanni Mindlink list. I have been using this interaction:

Kath Scarlet: Attanni Mindlink, Zuckuss

4-LOM: Attanni Mindlink

So when Kath forces a re-roll and receives stress, I had assumed that she would spread the stress to the rest of the squad. My opponent seemed to think that because Attanni Mindlink triggers when a stress or focus is 'assigned', it will not trigger from Zuckuss because it causes you to 'receive' stress, not 'assign' it.

Could somebody please clarify this for me? I searched but could not find anything on it.

No, the two terms are synonymous.

It's annoying that they use both when one would do, but they definitely have the same meaning.

When you receive a stress token, you assign it to your ship. They are one and the same for this purpose.

i want to know what happens with zuckuss, he adds all the Strain in one hit. is there a rule to say each one is added separately if so mindlink doesn't suffer but if there isn't that wold mean all mindlink got all strain as well?

Mindlink only ever picks up a maximum of one stress token.

yes I agree but if 3 stress is put on at the same time from zuckass. if all 3 going on at once then because they had no stress to begin with they would get all 3. hence is there a rule to say that each stress added is done separately?

There is no such rule, at least not explicitly. But Mindlink's text seems clear enough to me that each assignment of a single token is checked separately, and rulings around Soontir's ability and Rage agree with this.

If you're really concerned, I suggest emailing FFG support and it might get FAQed, but given that Mindlink is already a pretty terrible card, giving it even more penalties for no particular reason seems excessive.
