Now I am not saying this would be my first pick, but I think with all of the Poe R5-P9 synerrgy a very useful late game fighter was released in the T-70 packs, Red Ace. Yeah he lacks an EPT, but for a low price he can take R5-P9, while not as consistent or powerful as Poe, I think a regenerating T-70 os a pretty nice item with 4 effective shields for only 32, assumin Integrated Astromech, it's an investment, but I think he's not bad support for alpha strikes or aces lists, since he has a nice dial, survivability, and movement. Again it isn't the best but I think as filler it's not a bad ship, with another expensive ace or 2 he is much more maneuverable than a Wedge for the same price and more durable. Then again this might be horrible but I thought I would ask.
Idea for Red Ace as a cheap but useful wingman.
This is the way I run Red Ace when flying with Poe.
Red Ace, Comm Relay, R2-D2, Autothrusters.
This allows RA to hold the evade token, and then do a green maneuver to regen lost shields effectively giving 4 shields once back at full health. Red Ace is a pain in the butt when built like this. However, with the munition meta the way it is right not Red Ace falls into the same category as Poe and isn't taken often.
Ahhh darn I forgot comm relay! Great way to run him.
To fully use Red Ace it's not cheap, it can be more expensive that Poe ![]()
Red Ace is grand, but her real problem is a distinct vulnerability to focus fire due to middling PS and only 2 agility. Even starting with an evade (either by running over a rock, or from Jan) she's still able to get an extra evade on the first tow attacks hitting her - but throw three or four attacks, and she melts.
But unlike Soontir of whom the same is true, it's FAR easier to line those three or four attacks up against her given her low PS.

Having said that, I agree Red Ace is a late-game king where opponents will struggle to win a battle of attrition. I have even had her wear down Poe 1-on-1. ![]()
Best way to use her is with something else threatening and force your opponent to make hard choices. You can run a lean Ghost/Phantom and still have just enough points left your either Poe or Red Ace with decent upgrades.
Edited by KarhedronI played this not too long ago:
Red Ace (R2-D2, Comm Relay, Shield Upgrade)
Kanan (Fire-Control System, Recon Specialist)
Prototype (Chardaan Refit, Autothrusters)
100 points
Of course Red Ace is not cheap at all here, but it was a lot of fun. Kanan's ability helps protect Red Ace, the Ghost can't really be ignored and represents quite the threat if flown well, and the A-Wing is an awesome, annoying, blocker.
Edited by admatAutothrusters >>>> shield upgrade on Red Ace, especially with the regen.
But in that list I'd rate Biggs a lot higher, especially as he gives you room to put a turret on the Ghost, which you absolutely shouldn't fly a ghost without.
My current plan is the following.
43 Lothal Rebel (35), FCS (2), ABT (2), Hera (1), Han (2), Ghost Title (0)
21 Ezra Bridger (20), Rage (1), Phantom Title (0)
36 Red Ace (29), R2-D2 (4), Comm Relay (3), Integrated Astromech (0)
OR
36 Poe Dameron (31), R5-P9 (3), Autothrusters (2), Adaptability (0)
That gives you a cheap but very shooty and efficient Ghost that doesn't care too much if it gets stressed. It doesn't have any defensive upgrades so the trick is to do as much damage as possible and make it a big target. Raging Ezra is probably the cheapest effective shuttle build and is also fairly sturdy in the late game.
For your T70, you can take your pick of either Red Ace or Poe Dameron. Poe hits a bit harder and is PS9. Red Ace is tougher. Take your pick! ![]()
