Just received my copy of Nexus of Power and reading the intro I realized I've been doing it right. How I will read this book: Get out the pre-gens and roll d100 1-8 Ilum

9-16 Naboo

17-24 Dagobah

25-32 Weik

33-40 Lothal

41-48 Bardotta

49-56 Auratera

57- 66 Aleen'

67- 72 Devaron

73-80 Ictotch

81-88 Empress Teta

89-96 Ossus

96-100 roll again?

Well done. I'm so excited

Im confused. I don't own NoP and this is probably why. What exactly is the dice roll for?

To decide what planet to do a adventure on.

Ossus isn't really a planet most people can get to.

99% of the Adventure is trying to get to it.

The Cron Drift is a ***** to travel in.

It depends on how you want to play it. Even the most secure facilities are vulnerable to the most cunning Rebel spies, especially those whose ally is the Force. A knight-level game might well be set on Ossus, or perhaps a story about several Ossus natives discovering their abilities right under the nose of Imperial might. I do agree with you, however, that there is much fun to be had in getting to Ossus in the first place.

Its not a secure facility. Once upon a time the Sith couldn't break its defenses so they blew up the 12 solar systems around them and turned the entire nebula into a black hole infested drifting asteroid field that surrounds the planet making it impossible to travel to. Then thanks to the 12 supernova's the planet's atmosphere is super charged with electricity that causes lightning strikes on any ship that tries to land. Now then you have a problem finding a star chart that will get you there, which is useless once you actually hit the drift.

So its a whole legendary map hunt followed with a suicidal hyperspace trip...

To answer the question. Something I did for Suns of Fortune. If you just start to read the book from page one you quickly realize just how much great info is packed in there, so I randomized the locations and walk the pregens through them. Pretty fun way to tour the galaxy.

Now imagine if someone hid an ancient Rakati or Celestial artefact that unknowingly sucks in travelling spaceships into an area of space thought impregnable and safe but those darn Sith messed up the surrounding area so it is possible to get inside but near impossible to escape...
