Greetings. I guess I should stop thinking about this game and actually jump in!
If my schedule allows, I'm considering joining a local escalation tournament. I've only had a few demo games and two really good regular games. That and the internet makes me a near expert
- or maybe not!
So, I am looking at a list that includes easy to fly / learn ships and will be interesting. I want to run with Boba Fett in a stock Firespray as one of the main ships. It's solid, and with Boba at the helm, gives a lot of room to adjust my bearing as I learn.
So, how to build up?
I think for round one (60 points max, must be two ships min.) I'll take 2 Gamma Sq. bombers with some cheap ordinance and bank the spare point to get to round two. // Or // Inquisitor (PTL, Chips, ordinace TBD) w/ Academy Tie pilot. ..and like a 40 point initiative bid :/
Round Two (90 points total): add Boba Fett, EUpgrade, Ion Cannon; then, deciding between maybe Lone Wolf or Calculation; at this round or subsequent, I'd like rebel captive or gunner.
Round Three (120 points): add (another) TAP or the bombers if not taken round one
Round Four (150 points): add Ties, or Interceptors in common builds. Maybe a Defender, which has done well for me in my limited past.
So, I'm not so much trying make a killer list, with everything perfect, as rather picking a list that allows some learning curve, and is not too delicate.
