However, I've decided the correct answer is: one who lost them in a bet. Haha
Sarone EotE Campaign into Hutt Space Recruitment Thread
Final, final, version of sheet up. Changed to a Chiss as I am playing quite a few mandos in face to face games.(i.e. 2) and another in F&D PbP.
Hmmmmm I was left with like 450. I wanted to spend more but didn't have enough credits to get another gun ....... ![]()
I've started compiling a want list at the bottom of my sheet of things I can't afford currently.
Though I'm torn on which NPC I wanted to work with .... I mean they all seem promising.
Edited by KaelDEADLINE HAS PASSED AND NO MORE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Thank you everyone for submitting characters I will let you know my decisions in the next 24 to 48 hours.
Until then, good luck and Godspeed.
Who's got a PM so far? I have and I'll be playing an alternate.
Will the Alternates get the same amount of XP and Credits as the normal players?

First Off, let me define the difference between Primary and Alternate for this campaign.
For both, players are encouraged to post in the campaign and will be present for most scenes. Actions, conversations, and scenes where both types are present will be reviewed and interacted with together. In essence, think of Primary characters as the main characters while the Alternates are the supporting characters. That being said, if a primary player wishes to take a break for an episode, they can go into the Alternate pool. At that time, an Alternate can be promoted to Primary for the episode.
Primary Characters: Are the main focus for the campaign. They will get full Experience and Credits, as well as full Obligation reductions and increases. Their actions will be the deciding factor for the campaign.
Alternate Characters: Will be supporting the Primary Players. They will have the most interaction with the Benefactor, serving as guards, liaisons, experts, and so on. In essence, their main job will be on hand should "Important" information have to be presented to the Primary players. Or act as a sort of cavalry should it be necessary. Will get a percentage of Experience, Credits, and Obligation that Primary Players receive.
For the Alternate Roles
I have decided to go with
JalekZem with Sting Wango: Rodian Hired Gun - Enforcer
-and-
GMRen with " Jasen " (Sorry, but you didn't have the name and link)
For Primary Characters, In addition ColonelCommisar, Kymrel, and Tear44
hydrospanner with Sheed ( http://swsheets.com/c/racqfnecc-sheed )
TheErthafein with Edad.
sonovabith with Tion's
I'll set up the OOC between now and Saturday as well as work with various players on any final tweaks with Characters, backstories, and mechanics.
Good luck and Godspeed to all selected and Good luck, good fortunes, and Godspeed to those who have not been selected.
I look forward to gaming with you all!
Sarone, I'll continue to pore over the gear in the various books for my starting creds...figure on more intrusions/security gear.
Looking forward to this. Having never done this before, I'm excited to get my feet wet.
BTW, anyone have some suggested reading for me to better prepare me for a PbP game?

Just be mindful of the rules for gear as well as the credit limit and rarity.

I would recommend you check out the PBP here on the forums in EotE and Age of Rebellion.
That being said, it comes down to writing a post and then interacting with the rest of the party and GM.
Awww
If you want to, send me a pm and I'll go over the character with you, if that's alright.
Aww...
Man, I guess I should have made a female, Twi'lek, smuggler. :/
BTW, anyone have some suggested reading for me to better prepare me for a PbP game?
If I might blow my own trumpet, Edge of Darkness, the AoR PbP I'm running on here, works rather well and has had decent reviews (including from PCs in this game).
Congrats on the players picked, looking forward to gaming with you. To the ones that didn't get into the game, better luck next time ![]()

Honestly, PbP isn't terribly different than writing short story fiction, with the caveats of both limiting the scope of your control of the setting to your character...and not having the advantage of knowing the future in the setting as you write.
For short, but descriptive and engaging Star Wars writing, check out any of the short stories in any of the RPG books...from the (long by PbP standards) narratives at the beginnings of most FFG books, to (especially) the ongoing stories across many of the old WEG books.
Aside from that, nearly any fiction reading will help you become familiar with writing that flows, as opposed to short, blocky statements. Ideally, you want to write PbP as if the whole group is working together to make a story or novel to be read by others...so more description, internal thoughts, etc. and less like an affidavit to be used in court, strictly limited to "just the facts ma'am". FFG's system really lends itself to that aspect of PbP (even if, imvho, it is weak system wise for PbP due to the abstract scaling).
It's very much built in a way that encourages you to say, as a player, "Bob pauses for a moment behind the shipping crate, mentally steeling himself, before darting toward the blast door. As he gets close, he makes a running leap, twisting in mid-air to fire off a few hastily aimed shots in the general direction of the stormtroopers, hoping to keep their heads down." As opposed to the more mundane, "Bob takes his move phase to travel 6 meters toward the door. He will use his tactical phase to use a cover fire action over this area." Simply put, with many systems, you use the rules to decide what to do and your post to describe those game rules in text form...with the FFG system, you get to do it the other way: you decide what you want to do, then sort of "drape the rules over top".

It's fine, I'm changing back.

So basically R2 and Chewie?
R2, 3PO, Chewie, Lando, BB-8, the Naboo guard captain in Ep 1, Mace Windu, Yoda, et al

Don't forget about The Shadow's Mark. Over on the F&D forums.
Here is another one, a really good game (which I happen to play in): http://roleplayinggames.net/cgi-bin/mainboard.cgi?&board=68.
Thank you for selecting Tion and I look forward to a great game with you bunch of miscreants.
