trade Gauntlets of Power ?

By edcy, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Will trading Gauntlets of Power cause its tokens to remove ?

It is not stated explicitly that I know of, we have always played yes.

Since it doesn't say you would remove them when traded, I would personally rule that you can keep the tokens on.

I would say "no" too

I'm with Charmy and rugal on this one. Some cards have specific restrictions, like Immunity Elixer, stating it can't be traded.

Unless they errata the intent or restrict trading, it seems to me like you're free to trade without losing the fatigue tokens. We play it that the fatigue tokens stay on the card throughout the entire campaign. The only limit on the card as written is that it must be exhausted to absorb the 1 surge from an attack targeting you.

Thematically speaking, it's as if it's absorbing part of the force behind any attack (physical, magical or otherwise) that's targeting the hero equipped with it. Storing it to and re-purposing it to be redirected to an enemy later.

A very powerful Relic indeed, and one that feels balanced in my opinion because it gives the overlord the same effect for one of his dreaded Lieutenants. I also like humming the cheesy Ironman 90's cartoon theme whenever I use it :D :P

I don't see any problem with leaving tokens on the gauntlets- our method of play was admittedly decided while the heroes were tossing around mana weave.

Should we ever play a game of Descent together Zaltyre, would you as Overlord/Hero object to my use of the cheesy Ironman theme when I use my gautlets? These are life and death issues...

If I'm understanding you correctly, "I. AM. IRON-SPLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG."

I think Luijod was thinking more along the lines of War Splig

Now in darkness, world stops turning,

ashes where the bodies burning.

No more War Splig have the power,

hand of god has struck the hour.

You bastards made me bust out laughing in the office!

Splig looks more life a Fat Green Thor to me...

P.S. I'm stealing both of those, fair warning
