First Strike (5 Ships, few upgrades, No bid)

While there are many out there that would love a 5 ship build with a great initiative bid, I'm not one of them. I really like this list because despite not having Motti or ECM's survivability, the damage is almost guaranteed to hit and hit hard. What this list lacks in initiative it makes up for in selective objectives. Should your opponent chooses Opening Salvo....Awesome all your ships just got Expanded Launchers (2 black dice) for their first attack (from any hull zone) making your first strike that much more deadly. If your opponent chooses Hyperspace Assault you have 2 great options: Insidius or Demolisher. Both of which should be able to land a great first strike either crippling a small/medium ship or causing some severe paper cuts on a large ship. And lastly, Minefields, I've still yet to have someone choose minefields but if they do I'll still be excited. It's very easy to set up minefiels to funnle your opponent into one direction or another. While their is no dice advantage from this obejctive it's almost a more forced Superior Positions without giving your opponent an advantage if they have a lot of squadrons (all those shots to your rear add up when you have few squadrons to counter). Should they choose to ignore the mines...well they can risk the blue dice for some face-down or face-up damage.

The Raiders in this list really help set up the Gladiators for maximum damage by being able to activate first and force your opponent to move in closer. Keeping the ISD back a little bit or rushing in is totally up to you but either way it's going to rip through what's left of your opponent.

If you aren't taking ECM on the ISD2 (and I can't really see how you would squeeze it in) then drop to an ISD1 and take APTs on each Gladiator.
