I don't have the cards in question in front of me, however, I was wondering if cardtext such as "use X when you have figures (units, minions, etc.) in the same space/territory as the Fellowship," means that you have to have the corresponding figure(s) (army units, whatever), in the spot where the Fellowship was last seen or those cards are only usable if the Fellowship has been revealed/found (by either side - & placed in its real position, thus)?

Yes, it means the Last Known Position.
