By taulover55, in X-Wing Squad Lists

A tournament is coming up for a 50 pt single unique ship build. I love kitting my ships out and have come up with 2 potential builds

It's in a few weeks so I can get a chance to try then out. Both come in at 49 pts.

E-Wing: · Corran Horn (35)

Veteran Instincts (1)

Plasma Torpedoes (3)

Fire Control System (2)

· R2-D2 (4)

Engine Upgrade (4)

K-Wing: · Miranda Doni (29)

Extra Munitions (2)

Twin Laser Turret (6)

Ion Bombs (2)

Seismic Charges (2)

Advanced SLAM (2)

· Sabine Wren (2)

Conner Net (4)

Any other ideas? I have the ghost, core set, 2x a wings and a b wing plus access to a a falcon and a yt2400

I'm assuming you have PTL then? I would go PTL on Corran, drop the torps. With PTL, you can play a positioning game with the opponent. VI seems really good in one on one match ups, but I think in this case PTL will do you better. I like what you are thinking with Miranda, but also need to remember that bombs are not difficult to play around for a good Pilot. Especially knowing they'll always be in arc, it allows them to play very cautiously and avoid most of the bomb traps you may want to lay for them. I would suggest instead, this setup:

Miranda Doni — K-Wing 29

Twin Laser Turret 6

Extra Munitions 2

Proton Torpedoes 4

Homing Missiles 5

"Leebo" 2 or Tactician

Ion Bombs 2

Guidance Chips 0

Ship Total: 50

Now you threaten in a lot more ways. The Ion Bombs are especially threatening, as if the snag the opponent, you can possibly circle quick enough with Leebo to get an ordinance shot off. Tactician though is always a good call as it can cause that stress to the opponent which will prove invaluable as the game goes on. Jan Ors is always an option as well, though without other ways to generate focus, can be limiting. I think of all of them, Tactician will give you the most consistent benefit.

Do you have Rebel Aces? If so, a Keyan build may be more up your alley.

Keyan Farlander — B-Wing 29

Rage 1

Sensor Jammer 4

Heavy Laser Cannon 7

Proton Torpedoes 4

Extra Munitions 2

Jan Ors 2

B-Wing/E2 1

Ship Total: 5

Hard hitting, and as slippery as B-wings can get. Rage is awesome as it generates Evade (through Ors) and allows three rerolls and Keyan's ability means you'll be changing all your eyeballs as well (be sure to spend the stress even if you don't have any eyeballs to adjust). Even if you can't field this guy yourself, be sure you know how to fight him, as you'll likely see variations of this list in that tournament.

EDIT: Actually, you'll probably see more offensive leaning Keyans, as 8HP is a lot to try to eat through when you're getting pounded on.

Keyan Farlander — B-Wing 29

Rage 1

Fire-Control System 2

Heavy Laser Cannon 7

Advanced Proton Torpedoes 6

Chewbacca 4

B-Wing/E2 1

Ship Total: 50

Chewbacca gives you 2 more HP for them to chew through, and now you are going to hit them stupid hard at any range.

Honestly I forgot about keyan, might have a look. I'll do a corran v keyan game shortly to zero in.

I like littering the battlefield with bombs and mines, makes it fun lol. I'm used to playing a wing heavy lists with E'a as back up (until I got the ghost) so know the e wing dial well.

I can get hold of most cards in enough time for the tournie so keep the ideas flowing!
