I'll never be able to get over this...

By Rogue Dakotan, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

swi24_attack_diagram.pngThat tile 04A.

It's all difficult terrain.

Which means:

Echo Base Troopers, Snowtroopers, Wampas, AT-STs, and Banthas can all dance around on that little metal hoop without care (not to mention people with mobile but that makes sense).

An AT-ST walking out there.

DOES NOT COMPUTE

It looks like interior space, so during the campaign AT-ST (and other Massives) can't enter. :D

Be careful, you might fall.

No

It's not true

It's impossible

(Couldn't resist. Sorry)

I think the Bantha/Wampa's environment and the ATST's need for exterior space are going to make this a non-issue. With the troopers, I imagine that either restrictions will be placed in the mission this element comes up in (probably only one side mission) or something about it will become a non-issue as well.

No biggy I bet.

right. most of these silly situations would arise in skirmish, if this tie happens to be used in a map. And judging fromt he size of it, i doubt they'd print a large tile and not include it in any skirmish missions.

Isn't there an Agenda set that lets you disregard the Habitat requirements for creatures?

So you'll take an agenda set just so you could play a Wampa on that tile?

Unless the skirmish map puts terminals or objectives in that tile, there may be no reason to even go in there... It's a dead end tile.

But yes, massive figures walking out there is just plain funny.

Kind of how the next magically floats in the air above that hangar hole on Training Grounds.

Its stupid that that specific tile is even in the game. I mean, its obvious why they put it in... its a historic point in RL star wars history.

But its not like its a key location in Cloud City. Its just some pylon. And even then its not the same one that Luke climbed onto.

I could totally see a wampa swinging around on that thing like a gibbon on a jungle gym.

What would be stupid would be paying a ton of money for a Star Wars license for their game and then not using that license to put iconic locations in the game to make it sell way more copies. That would be stupid.

Can an AT-ST walk sideways then?

Can an AT-ST walk sideways then?

What do you mean then? There is no sideways in Imperial Assault. There is also no facing. Any figure can move in any of the 4 orthogonal directions, and small figures can move in diagonal directions as well.

:D

It just seems thematically wrong that an AT-ST can sidestep. They are awkward after all :)

Awkward just means the AT-ST can't shoot at their feet, not that it can't "sidestep". ;)

General Weiss with its better weapons can also shoot at close range.

I guess some people just don't mind being sellouts.

There's absolutely nothing wrong about including iconic locations in an expansion. Why shouldn't we be allowed to recreate or simulate a battle at the heart of Bespin? Because someone needlessly finds it offensive somehow?

Skirmish has already some strange situations, one of which is an interior AT-ST. I am ok with nice thematic tiles.

Since this is all difficult terrain, the situation of an AT-ST going there would be very, very rare. They are already quite slow and clunky so moving an AT-ST or General Weiss there would likely be an questionable strategic decision, especially because you easily can shot into this tile from outside.

This is a needlessly inflammatory post.

For campaign, Nexu aren't allowed inside right? AT-ST for sure aren't. Wampa's have environment same with Bantha Riders. But then you can get that agenda card to use them, I wonder..

At the same time to me large units it doesn't really make sense, but for single figures why can't they walk out there? Luke did it.

Nexu are allowed inside. By the time the imperials get them, they've already been potty trained.
