Not.

Gonna.

Bite.

:)

Looking at Cham and Hera, I wouldn't be surprised if we see a reprint of Twi'Leks, though I would still be sad.

Well that doesn't sound fun.

That costs extra, Samophlange.

A copy of the Force Awakens Beginner Set, at the very least. And possibly dinner.

It'd be an odd book to put a species that generally avoids direct conflict into.

But then some of FFG's species choices for prior books have been fairly odd (Special Modifications topping the list for many folks).

Perhaps, but Lords of The Sith has taught us that Ryloth can only take so much abuse.

So, something interesting just happened: the Force Awakens Beginner Box just went to the printer only a week after its announcement. If the same thing happens with Forged in Battle, and printing takes about a month, we could actually see the book out by early-mid August, up to a month and a half sooner then my current estimate.

Do I think this is likely? Probably not. But possible? Yes!

Also, hmm...food's not too hard, but where am I going to get a copy of the TFA Beginner Box without waiting a few months...Huh? Oh, it's nothing! Don't mind me! <_<' >_>'

I'm expecting "No Disintegrations" just because it's the most obvious choice.

There was a book of that name in the old West End Games D6 line; I think it would be a perfect choice to reuse here. "Any Methods Necessary" would be cool too, though.

The obvious choice? For A Few Credits More.

Here, of course, would be the cover art - if I were the FFG Art Director, that is.

(subtitle - Star Wars, Empire and Jedi movie posters, but done in the Spaghetti Western style)

Well, you are the one with Special Modifications after all.

I walked into that one a bit, didn't I? :)

But yeah, I'd love to see a Spaghetti Western version of a Bounty Hunter book. 'Firefly' probably informs my game more than the post-original movies SW stuff.

Who doesn't love Firefly, it's awesome!

The Serenity RPG book is on my shelf right by the WEG SWRPG books to mine for ideas. Once I've completed getting the current SWRPG books available, I'll be picking up the Firefly books for that same idea mining potential.

*meekly puts hand up*

Yeah, I know it's about as an unpopular opinion as "Phantom Menace was pretty good", but I didnt like Firefly. I got 3 or 4 episodes into it and I could NOT stand the characters. To the man, every single one of them I wanted to punch in their dysfunctional faces.

If I'm going to dip my toes in the Cowboys Getting By In Space genre, I'll go watch Cowboy Bebop again.

Sir, different strokes and all, but I will have words with someone who wants to punch my sweet Kaylee in the face. Just for that, I hope the TFA box is even flimsier than the existing beginner game boxes!

I almost hit the report button on that ;) but seriously I do get it, they are crazy and completely dysfunctional, but I think that's part of what I like about it. And let's face it only one season and a movie was made so your actually in the majority.

That was the engineer?

*scurries off to The Google*

Okay, she was probably the least punchable of the lot. :)

As a whole I didnt think the series was terrible, more that it was merely "meh" (with terrible punchable characters) and that I had more stuff on my plate to go watch. I could see potential, and it might have been stronger with more than the half season it got - but it just wasnt for me.
(While I'm confessing Nerd Sins, I'll throw out the equally unpopular "I hated the new Battlestar Galactica" too. Firefly was Meh, Galactica was F'ing awful.)

Tastes are weird. I just don't like anime, for example. All my friends are always showing me stuff and telling me how great it is, and I just don't get it.

Heck, even within Star Wars fandom, there's all manner of schisms. I don't mind the Holiday Special (if we take it in its time and place), Ewoks or Jar-Jar. I thought 'Phantom Menace' was - like 'Force Awakens' - merely okay, rather than especially good or bad. I detested the last two pre-sequels though. I actually don't think I've ever made it though the last one, because at some point, projectile vomiting kicks in and my head starts spinning around.

I loved the KotOR games. But I wouldn't watch the cartoons or the new canon stuff if you put a disruptor pistol to my head.

I love the way FFG based their game around the original movies, because it's pretty much the only thing the fandom agrees on! (and even there, I prefer RotJ to ESB :) )

Oh, sure, but...

Kaylee!

(Ok, so MAYBE there's a restraining order someplace that has my name and Jewel Staite's on it....)

Was one of those shows that your friends got you try Cowboy Bebop?

It's the most unanime anime I've ever seen. Western styles, western jazz music, no fanservice or Naughty Tentacle Monsters, no big eyed school girls in sailor uniforms. It's also very Edge of the Empire/Spaghetti Western/Firefly-ish - which is why I mentioned it above.

I'm not saying it'll convert you to the genre, but if there's one series where you will probably get "it", it'd be Bebop.

(Also, it has one of the best openings in television , animated or otherwise)

In that case I'll take a look, Mr Penguin. The ones I've seen I've hardly been able to tell them apart, because they all seem to have large-eyed people in short skirts doing bizarre things.

I'm not saying that anime is necessarily bad - I've never liked 'popular' stuff. All the games and movies I love tend to be niche. I'm used to being an outlier when it comes to taste.

I loathe anime with a passion, it's like chewing sand and glass for me to sit and watch it.

Same. Exact that I did not care enough about the characters to feel anything about them. Oh and Clone Wars might be the best of Star Wars in the last 30 years (it starts a little weak though, but it needs that build up time really), while Rebels is still better than TFA and TPM, so maybe we should find a better motivator instead of that disrupter.

That is like saying you hate western movies. All of them. With passion. Or all animation movies, from Lion King over The Secret of NIMH to Fritz the Cat. Anime is not even a genre, it just animation from japan. Often indiscernible from cartoons and other western animation.
