Hmm... I think Last One Standing is reminiscent of these action movies where a single guy takes out a group of extras. That's a different genre than, say, Saving Private Ryan. I think the Soldier book will try to evoke themes of those kinds of movies. I wouldn't be surprised to see something alomg the lines of "hunker down" or "suppressive fire"
Soldier Book
Didn't the Diplomat get a signature ability to turn any kind of encounter into a social scene? Maybe the Soldier will get an ability that let's him turn any encounter into a combat scene...

Yes, because that never happens in normal sessions anyway...
What about Last One Standing for Vehicles instead. You take down 1 Minion Group of vehicles, with upgrades to take out a rival or 2. same time requirment of 2 rounds to do it, all the rest the same too, just change from all the Minions to 1 Minion squad of vehicles.

Soldier isn't about vehicular combat--that's the domain of the Ace. I'm not saying Soldiers can't engage in vehicular combat, but it's not where their core 'signature' abilities should be found.
I think what they mean is that the Soldier, operating on personal scale, takes down a Minion group of vehicles, not while operating a vehicle themself.
I could see it, potentially, but I'm kinda hoping for something a little more unique.
how about:
Tank Buster
Take down one enemy groundvehicle regardless of signature. You should narrate how you do it. (as a remenicens of luke taking down an AT-AT with a thermaldetonator)
may be upgradeable to two or three vehicles
and as defensive
Indestructable
For the next 2 rounds any damge the PC recives is reduced to 1, any Critical Injuries are reduced to 01 "Just a Bruise"
Upgradable up to 4 rounds
Well it's just my guess ^^
Edited by NightoneSo Soldiers have Unmatched Courage, which lets them ignore the effects of all Critical Injuries, huh?
Man, I'm good.
Edited by Absol197Although Trailblazer is pretty obvious, I still have no idea what Vanguard is going to be. Unless...
Vanguards, on the other hand, seize initiative and open fire rather than formulate tricks and traps.
Age of Rebellion Gunslinger analogue? Holy Toledo.
I wonder if Trailblazer will get Prime Positions or Suppressing Fire.
The preview emphasizes the Vanguard's access to both initiative skills, so I would expect they have ranks of Rapid Reaction and Quick Strike in the tree at the very least. I don't see them pushing dual-wielding the way Gunslinger does, though, so I don't know what kind of new talents they might sport.
I'm having a feeling that Vanguard --> F-S Emergent --> Ataru Striker could be fun!
Iktotchi Vanguard, a.k.a. "I go first"
Don't you mean Igo Farst?
Wow, I was on the right track with "The Bigger they Are" a signature ability to make vehicles easier to destroy, that's awesome.
Vanguard looks to be a stand and fight character for sure, but what talents does that equal, perhaps Hard Headed, Heroic Fortitude, perhaps even supreme Armour Master, Brace as well. Then hopefully some new talents for standing firm and holding the front lines.
Oh and this is one awesome picture; she looks like she means business!
Edited by RichardbuxtonIMO, she doesn't look Brawn-y enough (or Burly enough) to use that weapon to best effect. To me she looks more like Alliance recruiting propaganda than a real Heavy soldier.

Wow, Blackbird, really? Every woman needs to have implants? I thought you were better then that.
...Oh,
cybernetic
implants! Uh,yeah, sure maybe. I knew that's what you meant, didn't misread your post at all...

I think she fits the Star Wars space opera theme very well. Characters doing larger than life things.

Could be she's of a build similar to Bruce Lee. Until the guy took his shirt off, he didn't look all that impressive, especially under the somewhat baggy general Chinese attire he wore in his films. Underneath that however, the guy was obviously very muscular, and could hit with a whole lot of power when he wanted to.
Plus, it's Star Wars, the place where any adherence to the laws of physics is a happy accident

I'm looking at her right forearm which looks almost stunted.
I'd have no issue with her using that thing if she was using the necessary attachments to reduce Cumbersome. Unfortunately, they decided to draw her hefting it with her puny arms instead.

There are kinds of implants besides cybernetics? Has my
back alley surgeon
health counselor been lying to me?
The Hired Gun Signature Abilities seem a lot better....but we'll know for sure when the book comes out.

Only if the GM never sends vehicles at you! But I agree all 4 signature abilities could apply to either career. Probably something a Player should take into account when choosing a Career at character creation.
