If you dont have a second aggressor what would you fly with IG-88B?
Only 1 Aggressor
Dengar or a Hound's Tooth should pair decently with him.
Yeah Dengar is a solid option. I've seen Iggy-B flown alongside Boba to decent effect, too.
Boba, mos def.
Dengar and Bossk (with access to wave 8 crew) are also good choices.
Guri and a Z95 also perform well.
Attanni Mindlink has made flying a single IG-88 very viable in my opinion. With Advanced Sensors, you can now AdvSen TL, Segnors, and gain a focus from Mindlink. You can also AdvSen evade, then mindlink focus on bumps. It's almost like PTL but for 1 point.
Manaroo and Palob are good choices in that they won't mind the stress all that much. Manaroo in particular can turn your single IG into a beast. Remember that as soon as Manaroo passes off the focus (and TL probably) to your IG, he regains one. Your IG will typically have triple action economy even after a Segnor's.
Not a fan of single IG. You loose the synergy and lack the points to build a guy like Dengar to his full potential (54-56pt Dengar).

Many great Scum ships weigh at about 50pts, including Dengar (Lone Wolf + Recon Spec + Title). IG88s play well together, but they can also play nicely with others.
What about a mini-swarm? You can get 4 Z-95's in there.

That Dengar sucks compared to 54/56 Dengar. His repositioning leaves him naked and even with lw/rec spec he's too fragile not to arc dodge more often than not. It's almost like playing Han without engine.
Boba and Biggy work well together.
Firespray. Aggressor provides the punch and the Firespray provides the tricks.

If you say so, though ironically, the 50pt Dengar would beat the 54/56 Dengar like a redheaded step child, since it's more action efficient against other fat turrets where the repositioning doesn't matter as much (unless you get a corner case where you can adjust so you have arc on them, but not vice versa, which seems tough considering the 50pt setup can use the White S-Loop and PtL Dengar can't).
There's also this Degnar, which is nice because it can fire before Whisper and move after all the PS9 aces:

Keeping Dengar as cheap as possible is the way to go IMO.
I'd rather settle and take my chances with BR as my arc-dodging mechanic than invest into PTL and Engine.

If you have no choice when squad-building, sure.
But it's like saying "I prefer to take my chances on a slim Dash". A 56-pt Dengar is a whole different ball.

Dengar (33)Adaptability (0)Recon Specialist (3)R4 Agromech (2)Punishing One (12)Total: 50
Dengar vs Dengar or even fat turret vs fat turret is largely irrelevant when it's not a staple of the meta right now.
Going by your logic lw/rec spec Dash would be better than 58 Dash because he beats 58dash in 1vs1 and we all know who sees way more play (and with good reason).
Dengar for 50 isn't bad, but he doesn't become 'super' unless you invest all the way.
The problem is Scum doesnt have a good budget ace to pair him with and the meta isn't exactly kind to 2ship lists right now, which is why we don't see him that often (though there have been some dual jumpmaster builds that did well recently).
Edited by CelesI prefer a fat Tel over a Dengar because Dengar comes out at about 56, which doesn't leave much for IG. Flying the Aggressor with a regen Tel creates a nice hammer and anvil. Manaroo is also a good choice and cheaper.

Well, I mean that even when unrestricted. And what I'm saying is "I prefer to take my chances on a more joust-oriented Dash and 6 points of upgrades somewhere else"
Maybe it's the swarm player in me, but I find it cost-inefficient to give Dengar EU when he already has a native BR. Decimators and YT-1300s do perfectly fine with just boost. You really don't need boost and BR, especially when it would cost you 4 more points and limit you to PTL.
With a "budget" build of LW, RecSpec, and Dengar's ability, you almost want them to shoot you.
Edited by zerotcI've found that even a 41 pt IG can be a very effective ship on its own. I've used it like this:
Aggressor
Adaptability
Tractor Beam
FCS
AT
I have been flying IG88-B or C with Bossk and it's been going really well

With Rainbow Dash's dial that's actually quite viable.
The aggressor's most powerful card is that title, and a single IG doesn't allow you to play it.
