Hey folks,
I've been collecting all the ships, but I am "trying" to take a practical approach and buy ships that I will actually use.
So, is the Hound's Tooth worth the $45 price tag?
How are people using it?
Thanks
Shaner

There have been some lists with a named pilot as second fiddle to Dengar in the 40 point range that have seen some success, and the generic with all the great scum crew is a good choice in the low 30s range.
I enjoy it a lot, and there are quite a few ways you can use it. It is one of the many Scum large based ships, so I would go with it when you want to give that a try.
I'm enjoying flying it - it's a slightly more maneuverable, tougher Scum Lambda with a better firing arc. The pilots are all pretty good, the generic is great value, and Bossk crew is just brutal.
Also comes with Engine Upgrade, Crackshot, Stay on Target and Lone Wolf - all very useful upgrades.
The Hound's Tooth title is a little bit of a let down, but can be fun in casual play.
edit:
Trandoshan Slaver - Bossk, Gunner 36 points
is a brutally efficient combo which has a healthy resistance to stress (miss with your first shot, pick up a focus token and target lock, try again).
They make good Tactician boats as well.
Edit #2: Also, you can put one on an Epic flying stand and it can float around high above the battlefield, as graceful as a swan.
Edited by FTS GeckoIt's actually a nice little ship to base a Scum list around... however... depending on how prevalent ordnance is in your local meta, it may go down like the Titanic. It has a decent amount of hit points, but large ships with one agility are fodder for torpedoes.
That said, Bossk pilot can be really effective, and the generic Trandoshan Slaver is actually fantastic with Bossk crew, Gunner, and your choice of Boba Fett or Tactician.

Latts Razi with Weapons Engineer and K4 Security Droid is fairly inexpensive (if 39 points for a large ship is inexpensive to you) and quite deadly. Her ability allows her to spend a target lock to decrease agility on another ship that one of your ships is attacking. Weapons engineer allows a second target lock and allows you to lock onto two different ships when you aquire a target lock. K4 Security Droid allows a free target lock on a green move. Even if you are denied actions, you get dice modification. Primary weapon has 180 degree arc. Granted, Latts Razi is only PS5, but who cares... great ship! Can even get it into 4 ship Scum lists.
Edit: Grammar...
Edited by GrayfaxSlaver, gunner, bosk, zuckas is good. Dont forget to reroll failed evades on low agi ships to trigger Bosk, when possible.
Yep, worth it. Even for the versatility of having 3 crew slots available makes it interesting to list build for, imo. Goes well with a Jumpmaster and Mist Hunter in terms of getting all that sweet, sweet Scum crew.
I havent used it but Ive played against it several times. I think its underrated for sure. Some of the things you can do with 3 scum crew are just nasty.

I've run something very similar to this alongside Torkil Mux. Phantoms hated it, as Torkil would drop them down to PS0, leaving them uncloaked, and rolling just 1 green after Latts spends the target lock to reduce agility even further. Not incredibly competitive, but something very fun and worth trying if there's a lot of Phantoms in your area.
I wouldn't pick it up unless/until you grab the Mist Hunter expansion.
Zuckuss and 4LOM crews make even the PS3 generic very effective. Other upgrades like gunner and engine upgrade, while great, push the cost of a YV to the 40-50 range which is too expensive for how quickly it burns down.
It's not top tier stuff right now for torney's, but it's a solid scum fire support bruiser
It's a fun, interesting ship with limited competitive potential, but a number of very good cards, particularly Crack Shot, Glitterstim, Engine Upgrade.
Bossk/VI/Zuckuss or 4LOM/Boba/Greedo/Engine Upgrade is a solid ship.
Its real problem is that it can't turn round. If anything gets in behind it it's usually stuffed.

Not 100% accurate - it's white 3 turns make it a LOT better at turning than a Shuttle, and it's 180 degree firing arc can cover a surprising amount of ground. It's not quite as defenseless as that, so long as you use the board edges to your advantage.
It's also the only ship currently in the game that's capable of pulling off the 2-turn full stop, thanks to Inertial Dampeners.
Oh it's got tricks, sure. But a good opponent, once behind it, shouldn't ever be shot at by it again, especially if that opponent moves after it.
(I need to actually look at echolocation and see if a hard 3 boost will put someone who bumped behind you back in arc. Hard 3 daredevil would, and DD/EU is not necessarily a bad build for the space scow.)
E: hard 3 boost doesn't get a small ship bumped behind you back in arc I don't think.
Edited by thespaceinvaderBossk is a beast with calculation/marksmanship dengar 4-lom outlaw tech. Does major damage.
Slavers are just HP to chew through, and with their 180 arcs, can dish it out as well.
Not a bad ship. Cheap and efficient damage.
I've only played against it once. It and a slightly damaged X were the last two on the board. Once I got behind him it was all but over. Even though it's more maneuverable than the shuttle, he's basically a dead man flying when you get an opponent behind you if you're alone. It needs some support but as part of a squad it can be a good asset.
It's one of the two ships that I've skipped just because it holds no interest for me. I've not regretted not buying it at all. I'm not saying it's a bad ship or you can't have fun with it. I just don't care too much for the large based ships.
Ok, so it has an auxiliary firing arc...is that like the Firespray's rear arc or is it something different?
This "Pup Ship" that comes with the Hound's Tooth title...what is it?

It's a 6pt title. When/if your ship blows up, you get to detach a Z-95 with the same pilot that was flying the YV-666. It's not amazing for tournament play, but looks fun for flavor.
Honestly i've never seen one live past turn two of combat it goes down fast and rarely does enough damage to justify the points.

You haven't played me yet though Hobo.
Maybe at Yavin.
It's a solid expansion with some great cards. Also, Bossk is the Boss as a PILOT equipped with a Mangler or as a CREW on a Slaver with Gunner.
It's also the only ship currently in the game that's capable of pulling off the 2-turn full stop, thanks to Inertial Dampeners.
The infinitely* stopped electronic baffle shuttle is offended.
*infinity here ending upon death so max 10 turns
Absolutely worth it. Latts and even Moralo are cool pilots with interesting abilities that can fit into all sorts of casual/friendly/local tourney lists. The Slaver is a very efficient platform for Scums massively expanded crew options and can compliment whatever your competitive list is missing. Finally, VI Pilot Bossk is an excellent fellow for VI Boba, and with Tactician/EU on both you get one of Scums better answers to Aces with Ace level Pilot Skill for tackling anything else as well. Comes with great cards to boot.
Only disappointment is the title, but in casual or Epic games on Latts it can be fun.
