A-wings get very little out of Yavaris. I'd drop Yavaris altogether, either for a Support Neb with TRC or a TRC90.
Boosted Comms isn't particularly useful on Haven, since you want Haven in the fight. Swap that for EHB to improve your FC's value.
Speaking of which, get Rieekan off of Haven, since it's public enemy #1.
Tycho is more valuable as a stalling tactic than in pitched squadron combat. Might be worth dropping him to a vanilla A-wing to save some points.
All that said... I'm not sure how good the idea is here. If I'm reading the build right, your general plan is to charge in with A-wings pushed by the Haven, drop the Haven in the squadron fight, then follow up whatever the A-wings lashed out at with your TRC shots. The problem is that your only volume squadron pusher will be in the thick of it, a prime target anyway made sweeter by being very accessible. Particularly with so many points on it.
Maybe I'm just seeing entirely the wrong thing, though, in which case, of course, ignore me! ![]()
Well...I'm trying to find a way to make a good a wing build with Tycho.
As Ackbar would say "what do you suggest?"
I love a-wings good interceptors all around.
I love them too! You just have to use them to their strengths. A-wings love a fast, hard alpha strike--because they can't stand up to any return fire. Otherwise, they need something heavier behind them to come ball them out.
So if they're up against squadrons, they either need to kill their targets outright upfront (at least the heavy hitters), or have some meatier, scarier follow-up support behind them. Against ships, you're not killing with the A-wings directly (generally), but softening up for the ships behind them. So again, you want the meatier, scarier ship behind them in the same arc drawing the fire off the A-wings.
If it's helpful, a few lists I've run to some success that feature A-wings prominently:

This one has enough A-wings to conceivably down smaller ships alone. I was trying to find a good answer to kill the DeMSU Demolisher fast here, and it works... okay for that. The problem is that then you have 130 points of A-wings starting down the barrels of a horde a Raiders, which absolutely mow down A-wings if they get shots on them.

Very similar to the first one, but the addition of all those B-wings really changes how it flies. This list really needs to castle up, let them come to you, and then pounce. It requires quite a bit of finesse in positioning the B-wings to get them in position to support the A-wings in getting through the fighter screen, while then having them still in position to go after their real targets: the ships.

This one really uses the A-wings in the ship-attack support role. I actually usually avoid squadron engagement with the A-wings in this list unless it's looking *really* ugly, or there are token rogues. Otherwise, the A-wings are there to smack a target immediately before the MC30s do.
....I want those a wing swarms
Definitely had to borrow for that 12-stand monster.
I own 3 rebel squadron packs.
Whatcha think of this?
It combines an ackbar conga line...with a very strong fighter wing.
I wish I could afford 2 more copies of Flight Controllers...
I wish I could afford 2 more copies of Flight Controllers...
Any chance of trading for them? I have two, one of which I traded... I think an XI7 for. If you know anybody who played 3 VSD in Wave 1, they might have an extra they're willing to swap.
No, only person who had 3VSD in Wave 1, Runs 3 VSD in Wave 2, and picked up additional ones by trading - thus, at least locally, tapping that system out.
But I'll be making do, anyway...
Hopefully more COmmission painting.
I figured out a way to only need 2 flight controllers...I just can't see me spending 30 bucks for a friggin card...I mean maybe when amazon does another sale...but no.
Oh I revised my list...I think it meshes well A-wing wise.
There aint no party like an A wing party.
Mon Mothma? For what, 4 evades tokens total on ships that all have boosted comms?
If a list ever shouted Garm Bel Iblis.....
You have a very very valid point.
I could make it a 9 point bid very easily...
Revised.
