I like flying 3-4 ship elite teams, and I have really wanted to make this ship work, but in 100 pt games I can't seem to capitalize on the critical ability provided, has anybody run him on a smaller list?

So, here's something for you. It isn't the greatest, and the A-wings suffer from only 2 attack, but they are good at getting into range 1, which should help pushing crits through.

Edited by Raven19528It might work, it's vulnerable to super aces, very vulnerable. I was thinking the trick with Etahn would be to keep him as a wingman for a ship or two powerful enough to scare the enemy into hitting them, leaving Etahn as a strong late game finisher. I love R7 and FCS on him, that's a favorite combo of mine.
I've played around a little with etahn alongside 3 blue squadron b-wings.
You can keep them in formation without too much trouble, and they hit pretty hard.
Aces are problematic though. (you will probably see this as a common trend anywhere you see etahn - he wants to fly with a swarm so that you have the maximum number of dice to abuse his ability, so the pilot skills are not likely to be very high.)
The other issue with the list is that you only get 3 points to spend upgrading etahn... That doesn't get you very much.
The list is fantastic for jousting though.

Flying with Biggs means they won't be attacking you until Biggs is down. You could trim down Etahn and Ten to try to buff Biggs a little more, but Jan gives him some evasion support. Ten pushes through the crit that Etahn gives him, which means that no interceptors will be wanting to joust, and anything else without shields is going to be hiding as well. You could trim off the Crack Shot and R7 from Etahn, VI from Ten and FCS from one of the two to add Plasma Torps to two of the three guys. That would give you an awesome alpha strike, and with the almost guaranteed hit from the Etahn + Ten combo, you will strip at least 2 shields in the first volley, which will help a lot with pushing crits later. If you don't want the cover from Biggs, you could strip Crack Shot from Etahn, add the plasma torps with the setups as above, and add a Green flanker in the mix too.

Edited by Raven19528Now that looks badass! I never thought of Jan! that is a great idea, I was playing with Biggs earlier but he had trouble, but that evade would really help.
