If you could remove one scum ship from the game, which one would it be?

Well....the only Scum ship I don't own is the Hound's Tooth. I just.....am not really interested in it. Personal preference and all. I tend not to fly the big based ships much at all.

Personally, I love an Ion Scyk in a list for control. Cheap and effective.

I also love a bunch of Kihrazx Fighters for cheap damage output. Their 1 hard turn is pretty tight, as well (tight.....as in tight turn).

The only thing stopping me is how much fun I'm having playing around with Zuckuss, Manaroo and 2 x Cartel Marauders.

I wouldn't remove anything, now, balancing an under-costed ship on the other hand...

Scum is the faction that needs ships removed the least. If we're going to ban ships, we should start with imperials or rebels.

We could remove the 2400. Get rid of Dash, no one will miss leebo or the generics.

As much as I love Alpha Squadrons, we could ban the TIE Interceptor. Get rid of Soontir.

Let's also ban the Decimator. Get good and stop playing turrets.

I feel like the turret problem could have been fixed if Autothrusters wasn't a modification but instead a rule for firing out of arc, and Autothrusters itself would be an upgraded version only available to the faster ships and let them change a focus to an evade maybe?

It would encourage Turrets to actually point at the target instead of flying in circles.

Thematically I think the Scyk and the Kihraxz are the weakest parts of your collection, since they're at the tenuous edge of the extended universe...

Hey, it's not personal . :lol: I own three of the **** things, and I've flown them more than any sane person should. But if the question is really what Scum ship can be left out of a collection for casual play focused on the original trilogy, I think you've got to focus on the ships that don't appear in any of the movies or the "core" EU.

That means the bounty hunter ships are in: Aggressor, Firespray, G1-A, JumpMaster, and YV-666. Shadows of the Empire isn't my personal favorite, but lots of people count it as the nearest thing to OT canon that isn't actually in it, so the StarViper is in. The Y-wing and Headhunter are well established as elements of the EU--military technology that's so old and easy to reproduce that it's nearly ubiquitous in the galaxy.

All that's left is the HWK, Kihraxz, and Scyk. And getting rid of the HWK means getting rid of Palob Godalhi, who's an interesting and pretty well-established character, and it also obliterates the history of the Moldy Crow before it gets into Rebel hands.

So that just leaves the Kihraxz and Scyk.

...remove from the game? Why? Game elements that aren't used don't do any harm, and they can be "fixed".

I'm trying to even up my OT faction ship types at 10. OCD and storage and all. I agree that neither are hurting the game.

I have to admit that I like the Kihraxz Fighter. I've always said that the Scyk does better when one of those is in a list. The Kihraxz can take the heat while the Scyk just slips on in and does damage.

Still....20 pts is great for the cheap ship that takes a bit of attention to kill and can dish out the damage if it's ignored. It's great to put in a lot of lists. If you go for the big threat, then the Kihraxz chews you up. If you start popping the Kihraxzs, then the big threat starts hurting you.

See, I would suggest that if any were to be left out it would be the Z-95, Y-Wing and HWK, as these can all be fielded in a Rebel list. If you're going to cut out anything, you might as well cut out the cross-faction ships, and keep what's unique to the faction.

One of the best things about the Chrome web browser is it's built in spell check. Just make sure to right click and ADD TO DICTIONARY when you figure out the right spelling!

Wowie! Some folks are taking this waaaay too personally. Just asking a question :D I was stumped as to which one I wanted to 'forget' so I just was wondering what y'all thought.

It would have helped if you've explained the downsizing situation up front instead of raising the idea of removing a ship "from the game". That sounds wide-reaching and unwarranted so I'm not surprised some people thought you're a crank.

Me, probably none. But I would like either the Imperial or Rebellion ships use S&V in their squads with limitations of course.

A) Synergies such as Friendly only apply to your faction.

B) When the last ship of your faction is removed from play you loose; i.e. you can't win win with an S&V Ship.

C) If both sides want to use the same unique the side that pays more additional squad points gets to use that ship.

I don't play S&V as a faction but that's me. I'm sure there are plenty of people that do though especially with the U-Boat lists out there.

The Scum epic ship. I hated it's OPness so much I switched time and space to erase it. Now Scum is epic less and I am happy.

(admittedly that was before the arrival of the Kris Kross lists).

I think it's a decent list. Hard hitting, and five ships is pretty forgiving if you can make the extra numbers count.

If I had to pick, probably the aggressor.

You rarely see it outside of brobots, and even then only in a couple of other builds mainly.

Makes facing them pretty boring after you've played against them several times already.

Both the Scyk and the kffffftttttxz have pretty good dials. Being able to turn a Mangler cannon on a dime is quite nice.

Mindlink is so good on Brobots. On scyks it's good too, although across 4 ships you really have to think about movement order.

I collect all three factions, but I think Scum & Villainy are becoming the most favourite :wub: for both my son and I. I actually am looking forward to Epic ships for Scum & Villainy and some more small ship base ships.
